1st: clean every dish because anything we tried to used was visibly dirty. After that I was too nervous to use the towels.
2nd: extremely dirty. Wore socks in the morning and they were completely black.
3rd: management is horrendous.
Four people in our cabin had bed bug bites after the 1st the morning. One of them had over 50 bites total. When we talked to management they down played the problem and said they would “spray the mattress and we could continue to our stay”…after we said absolutely not, they told us “we can only refund you if you leave now”. I told them that they were going to refund us regardless of when we left because the bed bugs were completely unacceptable. They eventually told us they would refund us and gave us rooms at the motel. (If you stay at the motel beware because bed bugs can spread very quickly) The general manager hid from us and was difficult to reach. I believe he knew if he actually dealt with the problem he would have to give a lot more in the situation, so he avoided us at all costs. The on site manager hid whenever he saw us and continued to down play the situation. Very very disappointing.
Overall if you want vacation that will come home with you, look no further…
All that I can say is that most shelf food items (candy bars, etc.) didn’t have prices posted for them. We asked about ice cream cones which were pricey.
Who wants to ask what each item costs? Or do they just make up whatever price they feel they can charge on the spot? I don’t know so we didn’t purchase anything.
Kitchen was minimal! It had a full-size fridge and microwave. However, there were only 2 burners and NO oven. I had to completely revamp my menu for the week! 4 each of plates, bowls, utensils, cups, and glasses, even though we had paid for occupancy of 7 people.
The people in the store were friendly, but a little unorganized. Take and keep all your receipts! The manager had it down that we were to check out one day earlier than what we had paid for and he had no record that we had paid our pet fees of $240 + tax!! After we showed receipts, we had no problem.
If you go, take your own towels, as we got only 4 towels and NO towel service. Also there is a charcoal grill and firepit with a grate for cooking, but no metal spatula. If you are planning to eat in the cabin, bring what you will need. There was one medium grade frying pan and one fairly large pot. No large bowls
Overall, we had a fun time in the park. Our cabin could have been better equipped, but it did not spoil the visit. We did not eat at the Fireside Grill, but we did enjoy ice cream there one evening and it was convenient to buy ice there.
