It’s my second day in Lincoln. I moved here from Louisiana and I was treated like somebody off the street here. I went in, based off of recommendations from Billy’s and was having a great night checking everything out. Lincoln is beautiful. The bartender asks for my id, I give it to him, and he says, “honestly I have no experience with Louisiana ids but I’m gonna bring it to the back and get it checked out for you” I’m paying it no mind, I laugh and say sure! I’ll take a look at the menu while I wait. Now it’s been more than 15 minutes and I’m starting to wonder why it’s taking so long. The bartender comes back out and says, “unfortunately, I’m unable to serve you tonight, the lamination on the Id is off. If you’d like we can get an officer down here to verify and I’d be happy to serve you, I’m sorry” I’m sitting there in disbelief, l’ve never had this happen to me before. I ask if he can take any of my cards, or verify through the address listed on my id, he says no. With this being one of the first interactions I’ve had with Nebraskans it’s very off putting. I felt like I wasn’t welcomed there at all. I was mortified being the only person of color there and having the cops called on me. I asked did they have a machine to verify my id, the bar tender said, “that is just to make sure the address and name match it’s not for the verification of the id” I said okay and waited for the police to come. They never talked to me, I was given my id back after about 30 minutes. A manager car out and said “it wasn’t personal and we were trying to attack you” apparently they’ve had a bunch of fakes this month. They never asked for a second form of identification, I had my passport, credit and debits cards as well. There’s no way they call the police on everyone that has this issue. Either way I will never be returning and will be advising everyone I know to do the same. Do better it’s 2026!

Our server didn’t come to our table for over 45 minutes after I ordered a drink. I had to find her on the floor and ask her for my drink and she actually started laughing at me when I told her that all I wanted was the drink that I had ordered. She ignored our table while she went to all of her other tables several times. The service was absolutely horrible. Buzzard Billy has great food and the drinks are amazing if you can get them to actually bring them to you. After she asked me if there was anything else I needed, and I said no, I just need my drink, he and the manager looked at each other and both roll their eyes, very unprofessional. I was treated very poorly in my opinion and I very rarely complain about anybody or anything. The worst part is that I maintained being polite the entire time it’s not like they had any reason to treat me the way they did.

So few places without tvs left in this world where you can go and chill and leave the world behind. If you squint or put down a couple martinis you can almost pretend its the 60s.
Also love the staff here, bartenders are pretty great but its worth it for servers like Corryn that know just when you’re due for a fresh one and what you’d probably like.

Baylee was one of the rudest people I have ever met! She has never heard of service with a smile, don’t even bother with trying to order anything from her! Never met anyone more rude or annoyed by doing the job they are paid for, outrageous!

A charming little bar/lounge below Buzzard Billy’s, right across from the arcade bar. A good place to start an evening off. Super cozy environment that has a 50’s/60’s vibe with real friendly staff. Their mules were really good! Even the bouncer was nice and funny. Can recommend. Just make sure you get there before 9! Crowd really starts to pile in and they only let so many people in at once.

Been my favorite bar for years. The vibes, staff, and drinks are amazing. Their specialty is martinis, they have both traditional and dessert martinis. but they have a wonderful selection of whiskey, scitch, wine and beer as well. Their Moscow mules are great too.
