For the price, the portion sizes were on the small side. The bao buns with chicken I ordered were a bit salty. I couldn’t taste anything beyond the overpowering hot sauce and that mystery sauce on top was salty as well. The sprinkle of lettuce wasn’t helping. It needed a balancing element for the heat, maybe a light cream sauce or arugula just to break up the taste. The corn bread tasted ok but it was soaked in honey on the top and the bottom so all you tasted was honey and it came wet. Me personally I prefer a more buttery cornbread with a slight drizzle of honey. The pimento mac n cheese was okay, wasn’t bad but wasn’t something to rave over either. Didn’t taste pimento in it at all, didn’t look like the pictures, tasted traditionally standard. I can’t speak for everything else on the menu, so this is simply my opinion on these dishes alone. As a small woman, I have very small hands, so I posted a picture with the dishes next to my hand so you can see how small everything really is.

Wonderful cozy restaurant with amazing food. You have to make a reservation because it is a very small establishment. The staff are wonderful and very sweet. I was apart of a party of 5 and they sat us. We ordered the fried okra and Nashville hot honey bao buns as appetizers. The bao buns only come with 4 but our server gave us 5 at no extra charge! The main meal we ordered the “party fowl” which for the price of $125 comes with 20 pieces of amazing mixed fried chicken and one of each side with all the sauces. We were blown away with how much food you get for the price. I used to live in RI for 2.5 years and was visiting, now this is my go to place for fried chicken. Legitimately the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Everyone has to eat the amazing food here at least once. Thank you guys for the wonderful amazing food and memories I made with my friends! I attached pictures of the main meal that we got it’s so much food for what you spend.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened because you just can’t get southern fried chicken in RI and Popeyes doesn’t count…
I was in the area and decided to pick some up for dinner on the way home.
What a great idea!!
I got the leg (2) and thigh (1) dinner and the chicken breast sandwich.
With were just terrific! The texture of the breading was wonderful. Not soggy after the ride home, still just the right amount of crunch and flavored beautify. The meat was tender and full of flavor.
The sandwich was a juicy and crunchy breast that, from the first bite, filled our mouths with flavor.
The onion rings were very good and the cornbread with honey butter was out of this world as the butter had time to soak into the bread and just infused each bite..
Great place, we both talked about how we both want to go back for more.
I now understand why this fried chicken restaurant got a James Beard Award nomination.
Highy, Highly Recommend!

The service was great! (Adult) Drinks were perfect.

The fish sliders & cornbread were just . You’re supposed to pick a flavor and a sauce for the chicken, but I got mine plain. With that being said – although the chicken was crunchy and juicy, I could taste the flour in the batter. Next time I’ll order it with a flavor/sauce to see if there’s any difference. The pimento mac and cheese wasn’t bad but I really loved the pulled pork baked beans! Yummy!

There’s a small parking area in the front but off to the side there is a lot with plenty of spaces.

As a southern transplant, this is the restaurant I needed to find. Collards? Great. Chicken? Great. Corn bread? Great. I’m really glad that we find this spot.

The restaurant itself it pretty small, service is nice and fact, and the cocktails are delicious. It’s definitely been on our rotation.

After riding bikes over the Henderson Bridge from Providence, we stopped in for lunch. There wasn’t a bike rack, but there was a long fence next to the parking lot that made locking up the bikes easy.

We each ordered the blue plate, which looking around the restaurant, seems to be a popular choice among diners. The server allowed us to substitute tenders in place of the fried thigh and drumstick for the blue plate. I ordered my tenders with the honey Cholula flavor and blue cheese sauce. My partner ordered the Nashville hot flavor with truffle mayo. Both were great, but I’d recommend ordering the Nashville hot or Spicy flavors with blue cheese in retrospect.

For sides, we tried the collard greens, cheesy cheddar grits, corn bread with honey butter, and pulled pork baked beans. All were very good. The cornbread was a good choice because it can serve as a dessert at the end of the meal. The grits and baked beans were both excellent as spreads in the Texas toast that comes with the blue plate. If you order the collard greens, note that it has a pretty intense (almost smoky) flavor and lots of bacon, so be sure that you like both. The creamed corn sweet potato tater tots were popular choices among other customers while we were there.

This is the perfect restaurant if you’re in the mood for fried chicken and Southern food. Bring your appetite because the food is filling; I was glad to hop back on our bikes and do some more exercise after lunch!

Went here for the first time this past weekend for dinner with a friend, we wanted a casual dinner and this place met our needs! I want to command our server who was attentive and kind. The food was delicious! I would say that the checking tenders were some of the best I’ve ever had (I had the garlic parm tenders). I would definitely check out this place if you have a chance!!

This was Amazing! First time ordering from them we got doordash. Cannot recommend enough, the breading is deliciously seasoned and the chicken is juicy. The mashes potatoes and gravy were lumpy (the best) and had the tastiest gravy. Delicious pulled pork and beans. The corn bread was seriously so moist and buttery. The sandwich 10/10. First time having collard greens, they were life changing. Our new favorite restaurant.

Ok, I grew up here in East Providence and remember this area from when I was a kid, my grandfather use to get his Chevy Covair fixed here. Now this is an up and coming neighborhood and Honybird is the first to change this area into a great place.
It’s an old garage with big glass garage doors, it’s bright and comfortable inside.
We decided to give it a try for the first time and we came back the next day it was so good. Their menu is fun and lots to choose from, they even had a link to a menu on your phone for items that are not on the menu.
The staff were friendly, and the food was out pretty quick. The bar has an amazing selection of craft beers, on tap and in the bottle/can, along with a drink menu that is fun. We tried a few items over the days we came in. my favorite was the HB Famous Bowl, popcorn chicken, over mashed potatoes and gravy with cream corn. It was so big, I took ½ home.
The bartender suggested the cornbread, and let me tell you, I couldn’t get enough, even took some home. Even their take out containers are genius. The bathrooms have nostalgic album covers on the walls, even an autographed WuTang album cover.
It was busy when we came in the first night around 5:30pm but we got a couple seats at the bar, which filled up right after we sat. This place is a must stop, I just wished I had stopped in long before I did.

The music is the first thing you notice it’s really good. The rappers they had playing adds to the atmosphere. The chicken was succulent, I got it spicy, the blue cheese sauce I didn’t like much but I didn’t apply it. The corn bread was delicious and the lemonade although a bit sour quenched my thirst.

I got the blue plate with the corn bread fries, blue cheese and spicy:
