We had such a great time at Compo Beach and were really impressed with the food stand there. Everything we ordered was delicious — the hot dog was classic and perfectly grilled, the cheeseburger was juicy and flavorful, and the spicy chicken sandwich had just the right amount of heat. The grilled fish tacos were fresh and full of flavor — definitely a highlight.

Our friends ordered French fries, ice cream, and funnel cake, and they loved every bite. The fries were crispy and golden, the ice cream was perfect for a hot day, and the funnel cake was warm, sweet, and just the right amount of indulgent.

What really made the experience even better was the amazing staff. Trina was super helpful and friendly, Cook Jean clearly takes pride in his food — everything came out hot and made to order — and Haley at the register was welcoming and efficient, making the whole process easy and pleasant.

The facilities were also very clean and well-maintained, which we really appreciated. It’s clear the team works hard and takes pride in what they do. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re at the beach!

This may still be “just getting started” hiccups but we experienced a pretty overwhelmed staff: 45-60 minute delays for simple food, and their smoothies took multiple attempts to get to a consistency that they would serve to us.

We got a green smoothie (which we would not order again: weird flavor profile and odd texture) and a tropical one (which was fine for a beach smoothie).

Overall, I think they’ve got to work out the operational and food delivery issues, and then hopefully the weird taste is simply a part of that.

Currently falls well well short of all standards that Joey’s had left behind.

Sublime restaurant directly on Compo Beach, Westport, CT. Great to have a beach picnic vibe, amazing views and cute seating options. It’s all here

It is insane that year after year this place can’t get it together. I wish the old owners were in charge. The longest waits and high prices …all for food that is okay at best. I just don’t understand how they haven’t worked out timing, staffing and efficiency. A real disappointment at such a beautiful beach.

The lobster rolls are all worth it. The rest of the selection is nice but don’t expect restaurant quality, or the healthiest of choices. All is still good food for the beach. The fish tacos are really well sized, and highly recommended. I have also enjoyed the quinoa salad. Kids love the soft serve. Plus, you can play some free, old school arcades while waiting.

After 3 years, these people still have not figured out how to run a snack bar. Food is overpriced, the menu consists of mediocre snack bar offerings (unless you want an $30 lobster roll) and the service is abysmal. Even when not crowded it takes 20 to 30 minutes for them to cook a hotdog. They have a captive audience, so it would appear that they have zero motivation to improve. I would recommend picking up food on the way to the beach and avoid going there.

Here’s the recipe for the worst hotdog ever. Use a stale roll… don’t bother to heat it on the grill to hide the fact that it’s stale… then, even though the customer requested as well done hot dog, just cook it half way… so it’s almost still cold. That’s how they do it at Hook’d… and then they charge you $6. I will NEVER go there again. I gave them a second chance. Shame on you Westport…. Bring Joey’s back.

Been here a couple of times but something is different about the revamped vegan bowl it was different and delicious. I’ve have had the vegan bowl many times, usually it takes forever but I didn’t have to wait. The new dressing tasted amazing a bit different sweet and spicy. really enjoyed it. Even asked for a extra. Just wish it was was more consistent. Hopefully it be like that next time I go.

Good food but expensive (to be expected) for some fairly basic offerings. Overall a good place to get beach food if you don’t feel like bringing a picnic to the beach. The kids love it for ice cream, chicken fingers, etc. Everything is hot, tastes fresh and is served pretty fast for being a smaller place.

I wish I can give ‘0’ stars. The food and service is nowhere near what Joeys by the Shore was. The first time I tried them they gave me a plate of crispy burnt fries and old wilted salad with soggy cucumbers. The food was inedible. I returned the food and asked for a refund. I never did receive a refund. Two more times and again, the food was burnt and awful. The third time, we waited 45 minutes and had to request a refund and leave the beach starving. At the same time, another customer did the same refund request since she could not wait more than the 45 minutes we waited on a Wednesday afternoon for fish and chips.
