Can I give Mainely Custard 10 stars please?? The last time I had real custard was when I lived in Mississippi. I live in Washington now and while visiting friends in town, they told me about this place. When I heard “custard,” I was there! OMG I live for Blueberry ice cream, so I just had to try their blueberry custard. BEST I’VE EVER HAD! It was so good, we bought a pint to take home to friends and then we went back again the next day for another cone on our way out of town.
This is not the same as custard you might find at the grocery store – check the ingredients on the labels there. They often add oil or something else to attempt the same texture. Not even close to the same. *This place is the real deal.* And of course it’s cute & had a nice line formed up because it’s the best. Make sure you plan a stop here if you’re visiting! And if you live here – go get a gym membership so you can come here more often!

Literally the best dairy-free ice cream I’ve ever had. I got the sundae with pecans and chocolate fudge. Forgot the flavor but I recalled it was caramelly and very creamy.
If you’re ever in the area, this is a must-try. 10/10 highly recommend.

All I can say is that I am soooo glad this custard Shop is 15 hours from where I live! Why you wonder, because I would be there EVERY DAY! Super busy, long line and not cheap but worth every bite. Get the blueberry it is a Must!

Mainely Custard was incredible! Reed took our order and was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the ice cream. He recommended some great flavors and made the whole experience even better with his friendly and professional attitude. We can’t wait to come back and try more flavors!

Do not get anything “fruit” flavored here, they are downright offensive. The strawberry and lemons curd flavors were absolutely disgusting – the most intense, fake flavor and color we’ve ever tasted. What an absolute let-down, as this place used to make the most amazing flavors, that actually tasted like the real fruits. The girls working we’re really nice, but that’s the only thing this place has.going for it now.

What a great little spot!
The frozen custard was really good. If you’re curious, you can ask for a sample. Sort of tastes like those frozen fudge pops everyone used to sell. My 8 year old wasn’t sold on it (he got flavor injected soft serve ice cream), but my 13 year old and I enjoyed the custard.

Amazing place with kind people. I can here on a sunny day , and it was the perfect treat. Each scoop is the size of a softball, so to be able to get two scoops of frozen custard in a waffle bowl for only $7 was the best treat I could ask for. I got the coffee and vanilla flavors, and my friend got the strawberry and vanilla flavors in a cake cone. There was a chocolate flavor as well that we didn’t try , and we also didn’t try the flavor of the day, chocolate M&M, even though it sounded amazing. All of the flavors we ordered were amazing, and even though it was only my first time there, I am already planning trips to go back.
I didn’t get to try the vegan ice cream or the sundaes , but those will definitely be had in the future. The frozen custard is the same price as the vegan ice cream, and the prices are more than reasonable. Can’t recommend enough!

Not very impressed – the flavor of the day was listed on the roadside sign, however when we reached the front of the line the sign said “out of soft serve.” Ok… so I asked for a hard custard strawberry with fudge in a kiddie size, which I was told only soft serve comes in Kiddie size – I said “well you are out of soft serve.” Then the person working there said, “actually we have some soft serve from last night.”…. what?
Anyways I ordered the hard custard in a small because I didn’t want last night’s ice cream, and only after I ordered did I realize the hard custard costs nearly DOUBLE the price of the soft serve custard. I don’t get it.
The custard itself was ok – Culver’s in Wisconsin is much better. I wouldn’t come back here due to the inconsistent communication to what is available, the inconsistency in pricing, and the lack of custard consistency to the hard custard.

Order what you want but just know they don’t change their scoops! I ordered coffee like I do EVERY TIME! Taste was off, I told the person working it wasn’t right. They tried it and said it does taste a bit fruity. Knowing they sell Chocolate raspberry swirl, they didn’t offer my money back I HAD to choice something else. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I’m good on your fluff white custard. ♀️ Purely disappointed
