Our server was very friendly and attentive. A reservation was required so make sure to call ahead before you go. It is a very cool venue, will definitely be going back.
I ordered the 12 oz ribeye — listed at $50, which in hindsight should’ve come with a side of buyer’s remorse and a complimentary therapy session. What arrived was… an 8 oz optical illusion at best. This thing was so thin I could’ve used it as a bookmark. The marbling? Non-existent. This ribeye had less fat than a vegan’s dream journal. It was drier than a stand-up comedian bombing at an open mic. I’m convinced they sourced this from the discount freezer section of a grocery store that’s one health inspection away from being condemned. I’ve had better “steak” from the clearance bin at a gas station.
The fries? Classic frozen McCain vibes — the kind your aunt buys in bulk for when the grandkids visit and she can’t be bothered. My girlfriend went for the chicken sandwich, hoping for something edible. Instead, she received what I can only describe as a deep-fried chicken brick drowned in sauce so aggressive it turned the bun into wet cardboard within 30 seconds.
If you’re looking for a romantic dinner that ends in mutual disappointment, silent chewing and passive-aggressive “I told you so” glances — congratulations, you’ve found it.
The one star is purely for the effort it took the server to bring us the bill without laughing.
When we walked up we were gruffly stopped outside by a 9yr old asking us if we had reservations! We did as we had read enough reviews saying you needed them. Not sure why, there were 3 tables of patrons, including ours!
The waiter had headphones on and we were clearly ruining his evening.
We ordered the steak as the reviews said they were amazing, best steaks people had eaten. Again not sure where these reviewers eat, just saying! We ordered the add on mushrooms for $5 for our $40 steak, with fries.
We got the paper thin steak that was suppose to be cooked medium and was well done. There were maximum 3 mushrooms quartered (don’t forget they were $5!) When the waiter who had basically ignored us finally came back I had to ask for ketchup and I was given a bottle being told “not sure how much’s in it”.
If you decide to ignore this review, totally up to you, but you’ll end up being disappointed. We should have heeded the other 1 star reviews.
Not your typical restaurant, this family-run establishment combines the charm of a rural setting and rustic decor, with the fun and warm atmosphere of a saloon. The environment is inviting, the service is fast and friendly, and the steaks are tender, flavourful, and cooked to perfection.
We always receive a warm welcome from Bob (the owner) who goes above and beyond to make our experience memorable. We have been lucky to have been regaled with his colourful stories, jokes, and live performances of guitar and song.
We love this place for a special evening out with friends and look forward to returning!
The food is great and the portions are generous.
The staff is friendly.
The atmosphere is cosy.
The location is a little out of the way but well with making the trip.
