Nice guy working the counter but the food was very sub par. The sandwiches were not what I would describe as BBQ at all. They tasted like a spicy ketchup sandwich. I ordered BBQ baked beans and it was super undercooked and hard beans. Plus just the two sandwiches and beans was $25. Way overpriced for what you got. Not to mention the front of house had flies literally everywhere. Pies were left on the counter exposed with flies landing all over them. Fly tape on the ceiling and right next to a table where I almost put my hand on it. I can’t imagine this place passes health inspections. There are a lot of other places to get good food in Ridgway.

Stumbled upon this little gem on our way to Telluride, I was about to settle for gas station snacks when we saw the donut shop! I had a squash empanada and a cinnamon donut and both tasted amazing and were very fresh. The owner stopped in while I was there and he was super friendly and passionate about food and using good ingredients. He mentioned using flax seed meal in the empanada dough and using less sugar than normal donuts, which made me feel a (tiny bit) better about indulging in these delicious treats.

Items such as BBQ appear to be reheated as ordered. Two tacos weren’t quick. No BBQ sauce on BBQ tacos. Brisket was better than pork. When asked what time they open Monday “between 6-8am”….

I came here to review and saw another reviewer said pretty much exactly what I was going to say. The outside of the shop said “Donut Co,” and donuts were what I wanted, so we skipped breakfast and arrived around 9:30 to find a selection of three types of donuts that didn’t look appetizing at all, and cinnamon rolls. I went ahead and ordered a cinnamon roll, and when the man went to pick up another, I told him I only wanted one. He said the second one was free. I only ordered the one cinnamon roll and my total was over six dollars, but on vacation in a touristy place, so okay, whatever. Went out to the car, and opened my paper bag and the cinnamon rolls were hard as a rock – I am absolutely not exaggerating. We showed them to our adult daughter’s family in a different vehicle before throwing them out without even trying them. Owner replied to the other reviewer that they are made fresh every day, but I have never seen a fresh cinnamon roll be as hard as a four day old one. The bag literally clunked against the trash can when we tossed it.
There was a local sitting waiting for his food when I walked in who said their burritos are good. I’m not going back to try them, so take that as you will.

Service was quick and friendly. The vegan maple glazed donut was great! They also have more than one option for vegan burritos. The burrito needed some sort of sauce or seasoning though. Good portions – leaving feeling full and happy.

I had high hopes based on some of the previous reviews and photos, but I was sorely disappointed and underwhelmed with the Hippie Mermaid. I ordered three donuts and two coffees and waited 15 minutes to receive the order, only to find out they were missing a coffee and one of the three donuts. I’ve never been to a donut shop where I had to wait that long to be served donuts that were already made. The employees were struggling to keep up with the orders of the few other customers there that morning.
This is not an exaggeration but while we waited for our order, we witnessed every other order come out incorrect/incomplete. To top it all off the donuts and coffee were extremely mediocre. You’re better off finding breakfast elsewhere in the Ridgway area. (As I’m writing this review I am now heading to Montrose to get a new breakfast.)

I enjoyed my two donuts, and we picked them up at 2pm, and I did not heat them up. The donuts here are square, have no hole in the middle, and are thick and dense (think like a dinner roll). All the sweetness is still there. Also picked up a burrito which did not disappoint.

We wanted to hit our sweet tooth before we headed back to Montrose. They didn’t have much left by the time we got there. We asked if they had any Maple, and the young man said he could make them. I kinda giggled at first and tried to stop him. When he came back BOOOOMB warm, fresh, just glazed maple donuts. They are a dense dough on the inside with a delicate crisp outside. You could eat them plain, they’re that good. We will definitely be back. Hoping the build one in Montrose soon!

Cinnamon roll dry and so hard I had to break it to eat only Center. Donut very dry but cinnamon coating ok. Tasted like 2-3 days old.
