This review is for the food window in the back, The Twisted Nook. I love Pino’s, it is the best neighborhood spot. The Twisted Nook is delicious!!! Fresh, high quality, good value food. Italian sub and any pizza are incredible. Maybe some of the best pizza you can get in the neighborhood. Keep up the amazing work!!

This is Highland Park’s version of Cheers, the tv show bar where everyone knows your name. An incredible amount of events happen in this building, ranging from dog walk gatherings, open mic nights, all the way to theater performances of original and famous works and politician meet and greets.
While I haven’t tried their new eatery, Rhythm & Roots, Skullboy Pizza Shack was a welcome addition to the space. My little pizza rat (dog) always enjoyed sharing part of a slice when we’d pop in. They also have a nice selection of local beer and spirits.

There’s something wrong with the bartenders here. They’ll look you in the eye and then ignore you. It’s happened multiple times, whether they’re busy or not. They really need to get staff that understand basic manners. Also they set their tip to start at 20%, not a great look for their terrible service.
The place also reeks of sewage. And I have seen multiple extremely large cockroaches roaming around. This place is disgusting and a health hazard.
