First time here, but longtime lover of Peruvian food—so my expectations were happily high.

We walked in and were seated immediately (no waiting = already winning). Our server was super friendly and gave us a few recommendations, and let me just say… he understood the assignment. Every suggestion hit the mark.

He also talked us into the passion fruit juice, which was chef’s kiss and paired perfectly with the fried rice and grilled chicken. Seriously, don’t skip it.

Everything was fresh, flavorful, and downright delicious. Safe to say this place is officially on my “must-return” list. Can’t wait to come back! ✨

We’ve been coming here for years and the food is always AMAZING! You are greeted by friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. Complimentary soup and dinner rolls are served as soon as you are seated. Everything is delicious and made fresh
If it’s you’re first time I recommend tacu tacu montado or lomo saltado.

This spot serves some of the most flavorful roast chicken I have ever had. They provide a generous bottle of green sauce that takes it to the next level. The team is welcoming and attentive, making the experience even better. Pairing the chicken with their fried rice is a must it is perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious.

Excellent food and reasonable prices. The agualito de pollo was so good and healing. Suda’s mixto is always a favorite. We came check again and again

A friend brought me here while I was visiting California for the first time and the Lomo Saltado changed my life. I know that sounds crazy. But it has become a core memory for me. Every time I come to California, I HAVE TO COME HERE. My go to order is is the ceviche and lomo saltado. They also have this delightful soup that they serve when you sit down. It tastes like love and happiness in a bowl. I can’t recommend this place enough. GO EAT HERE!!!!

I like this place in general. The food is good and affordable. The restaurant looks clean, plenty of parking.
The reason that I am giving two stars for service is because one of the waitresses lacks customer service skills, When I talked to her, I clearly saw that she did not want to help me at all.
The last time that I was at Aji was on October 6th, 2023.
She came by and dropped my entree on my table and walked away right away. Minutes later, I asked her for a water refill; she gave me a not friendly look, walked away, and never came back to refill my glass of water.
As I was eating, I noticed that she did offer water to other customers, I also saw that she was giving other customers a cup of soup with their entree. I did not get a cup of soup, nor did she offer it to me.
I had to ask another waitress for help. She brought over a cup of soup and refilled my glass of water.
The previous waitress has a horrible attitude, a bad temper, and lacks communication skills and customer service skills.
She is the only negative comment regarding Aji.

Latest update:
Customer service has gotten from bad to worse. In the last three visits, the food has barely been warmed. Some slices of meat and fries have been almost cold. Today, I brought up my observation with the waitress, and I asked her to please make sure that my food was hot.
Today, I had to get up and go to the front counter to get a glass of water. The waitress never came back to my table.
To be safe and in order not to get upset for the lack of customer service, I recommend that you bring your own water or drink; otherwise, don’t expect any help.
There’s a young light complexion woman who works there once in a while; she is even worse than the permanent waitress. She will never come back to check on customers; her phone is more important than the customers.
I don’t understand why customer service has to be so terrible, I always leave 20% tip, which I regret because they don’t deserve it.

I’m in disbelief for such a terrible experience, I dine in frequently but today I placed a phone order at 7:30pm July 26th for a Large order of their soup for my daughter who was sick and she ended up getting GROSSED OUT BY IT and I mean look at it WHO WOULDN’T GET GROSSED BY IT! On top of that the older man working the register did not provided me with my receipt, yet get my change and hand it over to me but no receipt. It’s a large container where not even 1/5 of it it’s soup ! This was an hour and a half before closing , it’s simply unacceptable for an item that was $12. It is a shame we noticed after they closed down for the day because my daughter was not hungry before, but we’re definitely not coming back here, because it has happened before that the food has not been so great.

Nice place. I usually get Lomo sltado. Sltado was great and so was the rice. Problem I had was the aji sauce. I felt like it need to be little more spicy and less creamy flavor. I usually look forward to the sauce. It’s my favorite. Atmosphere and employees were fantastic with service. Not sure if I’d come back since I’m usually looking for a flavorful aji sauce. This might work out for most but if you look forward to the sauce this might not be the spot if your looking doe spicy. I’ve also seen a yellow sauce not sure what that was might come back to test yellow sauce.

This place is much over rated.
Entry has the feeling of a fast food take out place.
First time here, we got in a line a family was ordering with the cashier. No one greeted us or told us what to do while just standing a couple people back.
I walked up and had to stop a guy and ask what we are to do to get seated. He actually seated us right then but how long would’ve we stood there who could tell.

After being seated no one greeted or asked if we wanted water or any drinks for a while.
The young girl who was serving was going back and forth giving us no attention till she was finally ready to take our order. She had a real sourpuss face the whole time we were there.
I don’t think she should be serving .

The family at the table next to us tried and tried to get the servers attention but did not happen so the dad had to go to the cashier to order another plate for a late arrival.
Happened again for napkins, had to get up and go ask for them.

The food was not bad but NOT great.
I’m not used to having my meats served directly on the beans, it was pretty odd.

I have to say, do not come here for service nor for a nice place to eat, the hard wood chairs wears on you.

Take a look at the pic of the supposedly clean spoon it didn’t look clean at all liked they slightly rinsed but it was not clean.

I do not recommend this place.

I live in the Bay Area and I came to this restaurant by chance since it was close to our hotel and it was a delicious surprise. There is so much diversity and food competition in LA but this restaurant takes the cake as you feel like home as soon as your enter. More importantly, the food is excellent and it will definitely be one of my to-go places every time I visit. I tried Lomo Saltado, Ceviche de Pescado, Ají de Gallina, Tamales de Pollo, Pan con Chicharrón con su café con leche.
