Food was fresh, not a long wait. great for a first time sushi experience. Small atmosphere not really insta Worthy. But cool for a first time lunch date or maybe a friend. Atmosphere wise , more of a casual daytime situation. Service was decent. But if this place was to get crowded. Probably having The cashier and the waitress be the same person wouldn’t work well. At the end of the day. The food was good , and service was decent. The aesthetic meh. So you wanna have lunch with a friend, cool. Grab some for yourself awesome. Internet date with someone you don’t really know, fantastic. But if you’re looking for trendy or romantic this isn’t it. I’m not running back. But I would go back. Not because I was amazed. But because it was decent. But nothing special. Good job waitress cashier lady. You did what you could. Also this space isn’t very large so… You make the choice based on your party .

I’ve ordered through DoorDash 3x from this place. The first 2 DoorDash orders were amazing. We decided to place a scheduled order today at 5:30PM to be ready at 7:20PM. They called about an hour before the order was ready to tell me that can’t complete my order because they ran out of rice!? Your business is literally called The RICE Corner!?! All if not most of the items on the menu have rice as a base, how is this possible!? If you guys wanted to close early because of the holiday I get it, but just say that and not that you ran out of rice, which is WILD to me.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! Everybody there is SO nice! And the food, I can never explain how GOOD it is!! It is a great place for either 1 person, or even 5 people! I got a rice bowl with red and white tuna, salmon, crab, cucumber, edamame, and I put some unagi sauce on top and it was BOMB!

Meh! The food was okay. Their business sign is way cooler than the food! Don’t get me wrong. I would return for the salmon skin chicharrón bites 10 outta 10. The sushi roll we got was a 7 outta 10. However, not even close to 1st and main sushi plates. I would still give it my seal of approval #gorditoapproved #fatboyapproved

Ever since I saw The Rice Corner pop up on my Instagram — I knew I wanted to try this new spot, especially given that there’s only one other poke bowl place in town.

I’ve been back three times since their original soft opening (which had a great deal of 20%!). The poke bowls are delicious and fresh. I’ve ordered sushi twice for my son, and he enjoyed it, though both times the sushi roll fell apart. My only gripe is that the bowls seem small for the price, but I do like that you can earn points for your purchase. Personally, I think they should focus on the poke bowls unless they can get better at sushi making and/or add more rolls. There are too many other great sushi spots in town IMO. Either way, I’ll be back!

The Rice Corner serves Sushi and Poke. Unfortunately, these are not something I prefer, and had hoped that I could find something on the menu that I could enjoy while my son enjoyed sushi. However, this restaurant is very specific in their menu. I still give 4 stars for their friendly hospitality and cleanliness of the restaurant. It appeared to be fairly popular as well.

Ill give another try maybe in future I don’t know how to order but they are very helpful and they explain. i just have never tried poke bowls before. I asked for cooked salmon and shrimp on my poke bowl the salmon wasn’t cooked so I didnt eat it and the shrimp has no taste very watery not good shrimp just like cooked frozen bagged kind. Poke portions are tiny, regular is 3 scoops. I got like 8 shrimp and like 8 tiny cubes of salmon. So their scoops are small. Try the large if you want more meat they do 5 scoops on large. Next time all i want is crab salad that one was good.

Disclaimer: They only do student discounts for students attending CSU Stanislaus, in all honesty unfair as other places that do student discounts take students from all the colleges and not just Stanislaus

I didn’t get a chance to actually take photos of my poké bowl so the photos are from a video I took. Important to mention I ordered online via storefront by doordash.

I ordered the large bowl (2 scoops of spicy tuna, 2 scoops of salmon, 1 scoop of r&c mix, crab salad, green onions, white onions, seaweed salad, cucumber, furikake, shredded nori, crispy garlic, spicy tempura flakes, spicy mayo and unagi sauce). Just so you can get an idea of how much is in this bowl and how much there is. Proportions wise, I do think it’s way more rice than the scoops in total. Even when I did end up mixing everything in the end, there was just so much rice that the proportions of rice vs all the toppings was too much. Same for the sauce, I feel like they did go very light on it and could go just a lil bit more on it.

Otherwise as a whole, the bowl was good overall especially the r&c mix which I would definitely recommend. The place overall is a bit small and the entrance is off the side and not where the huge rice corner sign is. I did pre-order my order ahead of time, about an hour or so before they opened so I don’t have an idea of what the wait time was, I ordered at 10:45 and got a confirmation of my order at 11:21, and order was ready for pickup by 11:35.

Overall I would come by again for sure 🙂

I ordered a make your own poke bowl, and it was decent. Nothing spectacular, but I have no major complaints. I’ll order differently next time, I think I went a little too wild on the toppings, but that’s on me, not them. My one complaint is there was an error when applying a 20% discount to my order that I didn’t catch until I got home. It showed the correct total with discount applied, but charged my card the full price amount. (See picture) I don’t mind paying full price, but if you’re going to offer a discount, I don’t like the bait and switch. Watch your total when you go here, but the food is decent and the staff are friendly and quick.

Was excited to try this new spot after seeing the sign for so long. My daughter and I were able to walk in and order Togo right away. She did a build your own bowl. She got sushi rice, 3 scoops of the tofu with mushrooms, green onion, wasabi, shredded nori, and wasabi soy sauce. I was kind of disappointed in the amount in the bowl. Only about 10 little green onion pieces, and definitely not what I would consider 3 scoops of the protein. They also forgot the wasabi. It was lightly drizzled with the wasabi soy, and the rice still had some bite to it. I got a spam musubi. It was a hood portion for the price, but rice still had bite to it also. We are lovers of Asian cuisine. I grew up in a Japanese family. Though we were a tad disappointed, we will give the benefit of just opening and try them again after being opened for a while.
