My wife and I enjoy eating at Marimba’s. The entire staff greets us as soon as we walk in and gets us seated in a timely manner. The food is outstanding and they serve a great Margarita. They have an outdoor patio with plenty of tables with large umbrellas to keep the from shinning directly on you while you’re eating.

A family friend suggested this place as the best Mexican restaurant in Shelbyville, KY. There are MANY to choose from so I took her suggestion and do not need to look any further. Turns out first time is the charm with this one. Man! I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised I was with Marimba. The food was so hot and fresh. Their flavors are fantastic. I made a combo with a chicken and a beef burrito and a beef taco, which I ate every bit of. Absolutely delicious; but! I was a little jealous of my wife’s plate of perfectly seasoned carnita chunks. We have also visited their buffet they have on Friday’s and sundays and loved being able to sample other flavors they have. Marimbas is our go to Mexican restaurant from now on. It’s just fresh and fabulous.

As a couple who eats Mexican 3-4 times a week, this place is one of our all time favorites. The food is always great, the margaritas are fabulous, but the best part is how friendly everyone is here. Every time we are here they are always the friendliest people. We drive 35 mins to get here and it’s well worth the drive.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is pretty good but you better never EVER show up within an hour and a half of closing. The service was absolutely horrendous, I have never felt so rushed and unwelcome in my life! It’s not like we showed up last minute or took long to order at all. The food looked thrown together and some of us had a very easy request but somehow the order came out as wrong as it possibly could have. I understand wanting to get out on time and it’s absolutely fine to hurry along the process but for goodness sake there is no reason to be so rude… awful…
