We started with the Watermelon Mojito, which was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and such a fun twist on a classic. The Thecha Paneer was full of bold, vibrant flavors, and the Shaslik Tikka Chicken was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. One of the biggest surprises of the night was the Golden Crisp, crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.
Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted, and the atmosphere makes it a perfect place for date night, family dinners, or celebrating something special.
If you’re looking for top-tier Indian cuisine in Pittsburgh, Sankalp is easily one of the best restaurants in the city. Highly recommended!
Chicken Kohlhapuri: 9/10 – Smoky, rich, and unapologetically spicy . First time trying it, and it made quite the impression. Very nice.
Palak Paneer: 7/10 – Ordered mild, but the receipt said “baby mild”—which felt accurate. A bit on the sweet and soupy side. I usually love this dish, but I prefer it thick enough to scoop with naan and hearty enough to stay there.
Garlic Naan: 8/10 – Crispy, tasty, and doing the heavy lifting for that palak paneer.
Atmosphere: 7/10 Industrial ceilings and diner tables said “meh,” but the thoughtful decor tried to whisper “fine dining.” It’s a mixed message, but a clean and pleasant.
Would I go back? For that Kohlhapuri and naan combo—absolutely.

So I was served pretty quickly and frankly, since they have water at the table, I didn’t require any additional services once I had gotten my food.
The atmosphere was incredibly quaint, but it’s not why I came. I came to eat some delicious tiki masala and I was able to….!
The garlic naan bread was nice and crispy and super garlicy!
I feel like overall it was a bit spicier than other places and I usually order mild or a 3 out of 10.
That, however, in this case is a good thing! I really enjoyed my food and I will return so that I can try some pani puri which typically I can’t find in my area!
The service made the experience even better. Our server, Jatin, was outstanding n attentive & made sure everything was perfect. The whole staff was so welcoming and polite.
We left with happy hearts and full of stomachs.
The Crispy Corn were dense and stuck to the teeth, but the manager was very accommodating and removed it from the bill, which was a great gesture.
The Veg Croquettes had a nice cheesy filling, but the outer vermicelli coating didn’t work for us.
On the brighter side, the Garlic Naan was absolutely amazing — soft, flaky, and flavorful. The Kaju Masala was creamy, mildly sweet, and packed with cashews — a definite highlight. The Orange Mojito was refreshing and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the Rasmalai was a disappointment, lacking sponginess and flavor.
The ambience was neat, classy, and comfortable. The overall bill came to around $56 (including tip), which felt a bit on the expensive side.
Despite a few misses, we will definitely give this place another chance.
Must-try dishes: Paneer Afghani Bhurji — absolutely delicious and flavorful.
South Indian items were also very good, fresh, and authentic.
Nice ambience and overall a great experience.
Highly recommend! ✅
We got Hyderabadi Goat Dum Biriyani, Pav Bhaji, Chicken Schezuan Noodles, Kozhi Sukha (Chicken appetiser), and Bhuna Lamb. The food was delicious, and extremely authentic. Highly recommend! The staff was really nice, and I highly recommend asking them for recommendations as their large menu of offering maybe overwhelming.
The servers are extremely nice and the food comes very quickly.
I highly recommend Hyderabadi Biryani, Mirapakaya Chicken (Andhra Style semi-dry pepper heavy chicken), Chaas (Soiced Buttermilk), Chole Bhature (Chickpea curry with a fluffy fried indian bread), Schezuan Noodles, Momos (Indian dumplings).
I highly recommend asking the waiters for recommendations.
