Small little restaurant with great tasting food. I had lunch with some fellow co-workers. We ordered steak tacos, chicken tacos, ground beef tacos with rice and beans and a steak burrito. Everything was fresh and delicious. All three of their sauces, we’re a great accommodation to the food. I ordered our rice water, also known as horchata.. it was homemade, it was very refreshing. I will definitely have to bring my family out here, So they can try it as well.

Food is good, but customer service is below zero. The people who close at 9, don’t want your orders at 830 which, by the way, your online won’t take so you have to run in and get dirty looks for wanting a couple tacos at 830! Fyi, i work downtown Chicago and can’t get home until 8 and would like to eat without having to cook that’s better than McDs. I’m sorry for that but thought restaurants love customers. And i tip them every single time over $2 for takeout. Management better talk to their workers because they won’t have jobs and this place will close if the people working there don’t want your business because they want to close at 8 instead of 9pm. It’s sad because I like the food

I would give zero stars if I could. I placed an online order on 11/28. Got an email and text confirmation that my order was received. Got an order confirmation number as well. I even got a text that stated my order was received and another text later stating my order was ready for pick up. I went to the store to pick up my order at the designated time and they were closed. Apparently they closed early on Black Friday but my online order was still processed and money taken out of my account with nothing to show for it. There was a phone number provided for any order issues. I have called that number every day since 11/28. Each time I have spoken to an employee who says they will have their manager call me back. They have never called back. Yesterday I called again and spoke to the actual manager because he was the individual who answered the phone. He said he needed to finish an order and would call me back to assist. He never called back!! This is completely unprofessional of a business. The lack of communication is unacceptable. If you are unable to assist, speak to your customer so they are aware. But to lie and say you will call back for a week straight and never call back is unacceptable. We were repeat customers and will no longer be dining at Cilantro Grill again.

Edit: Just wanted to add, I was told by the cilantro grill employee when I called the first day that this issue occurred to other customers as well. And that something went wrong with their online ordering system since customers should not have been able to place orders but were able to. So, I’d love to know if the other people affected have gotten a resolution or if they are still chasing down the manager with zero response as well.

Listen I respect their ambition but this isn’t authentic Mexican food. The food is sub par and to be honest as we were in there the young lady got 4 orders wrong including mine. Appreciate the want for authenticity but it lacked flavor and substance, my pastor was all fatty pieces and the chicken was severely under season, couldn’t tell you about the asada, for the burrito I received was chicken when ordered asada. You do not put whole leaf iceberg lettuce in a burrito and you do not put half a tomato(whole) either. I like the ambience and the marketing but the food is overpriced and not true Mexican food. P.S: 100% boiled pork and not true carnitas.

This is an amazing restaurant. The communication between employees, and the speed at which orders are done, is excellent. Ray is super helpful and kind. She made the ordering process smooth. Thanks!

If you’re vegan/vegetarian. go elsewhere. Multiple times I’ve been given real chorizo, sometimes even steak, when asking for vegan chorizo. There is nothing worse than getting the wrong order multiple times. 4 times already.. You lost my business.

Worst experience ever.. food isn’t even fully warm, none of the food feels or taste fresh… a lot of premade stuff just like Taco Bell.. nothing is authentic!! For the price.. not even close to worth it! Best to stay away = D
