First and foremost the food was not up to par for the price. We started out with mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and we could tell it was just a generic frozen stick and at a price of $10. After our appetizer my wife and I ordered the chicken Alfredo for $17 each. The portion size was small and the chicken was just boiled and bland. The entrée did come with bread and oil which was the standout part of our meal. The staff did offer to replace our food at no extra cost. We got the Cajun Alfredo and breaded chicken to replace our chicken Alfredo. The wait staff was very friendly and one of the only pleasant parts of our experience.

The food was outstanding. They started us with free warm bread and olive oil, delicious. We had mozzarella sticks, Ravioli with butternut squash spread, and Rigatoni Italian sausage pasta. It was so good. The service was great and they were very nice people.

Came here on a Tuesday evening. Decent crowd inside but service kept up.

Appetizer: Bruschetta 8/10
Tasted fine but I prefer chopped up Roma not halved grape tomatoes.

Entree 1: cheese ravioli in Alfredo sauce. 9/10. I could not taste due to allergy. Wife says it was excellent.

Entree 2: chicken parm w/ fries 8/10. Parm was excellent but the dinner was supposed to come with provolone cheese not mozzarella. Mine had mozzarella.

Dessert: Black and White cookie 8/10. Only docking points for price. I feel $7 is a bit steep for a cookie.

All in all great dinner. Few misses here and there but they are new. Emily was our waitress and did great.

Heard about this place after someone posted about the food on a KC Food page or group. Don’t remember exactly. Always ready to try Italian, we ventured up from South KC to Excelsior Springs. It’s in a corner building downtown. We drove past it the first time but that’s probably on me. The food was very good. I got Spaghetti with meatballs. I gave the meatballs to my nephew who loved them. My sister got the Alfredo and said it was really good. She’s very picky about her Alfredo. They just opened back up so be graceful with growing pains and help support their success. The one option they should add is garlic cheesy bread. The meal came with what appeared to be toasted homemade bread and it was very good. Throw some garlic and cheese on it…perfection. I saw the reviewer who didn’t leave full. Thankfully me and my sister did.

I went here to eat on my own, and I was very pleased with the service, food, atmosphere, and everything.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice, the theme is interesting and the decor is great.

The food was definitely a highlight, I ordered Alfredo and it was excellent. Everything was well made, delicious, and definitely worthwhile.

The service was also great, everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the service was very quick and attentive as well.

Overall, great experience, highly recommend if you’re in the area or looking for a good Italian restaurant. Seating is a bit limited because the location is relatively small, so expect wait times for larger groups 5-6+. For couples or other small groups it is great!

I went last night for the first time. They were full however I noticed people didn’t have any food and those who did said they waited for an hour for what they did have. I almost gave up and was ready to leave cause I figured it was going to take much longer to get to my table. I want to say my waitress was fantastic she was kind and sweet and apologized ahead of time. Before I got ready to leave the manager came out and explained that due to the snow storm that was coming they figured not too many people would show up and I could totally understand that. I asked if I could get my appetizer and we were happy to wait. It was brought to my table shortly. Next let me say I loved the food it was delicious. I’m glad I stayed to try the food. I asked for a cappuccino it was good but could be a work in progress especially since cappuccino is a big part of ending your meal at the end. I want to say it’s perfectly ok to decide not to wait and pay for what you ate or drank however I did see a person completely use inappropriate language and shove a $20 bill in the managers hand there no need to mistreat people like that she is a human being. She handled it very well and offered the customer to keep her money. I’m sure within time they will get the kinks worked out. Give them a second chance it’s worth it. So in the end I’m glad I stayed I will be back with my family again.

My husband and I took a quick little vacation, and our favorite aspect of the visit was this darling place. We were immediately welcomed warmly and genuinely by Emily and Brittney, who made our stay deeply enjoyable. I’m so grateful to not only be leaving very satisfied by the service, food, and unmatched hospitality, but leaving having made new friends. Karen, what you and your family are doing is so special, thank you for contributing to our getaway. We can’t wait to be back to see you all! (Love, minestrone girl and massaged by strangers).

I had a great time and this will be a great addition to downtown excelsior springs. The service was great, the ambiance was eclectic yet inviting, the food was delicious.

I was mostly blown away by the service, though. I misread the menu and didn’t order what I meant to, but the lovely bartender and owner fixed it for me right away, even though it was my mistake.

The butternut squash puree with roasted grapes and ravioli … so so good!

I can’t wait to go back and try the cannolis and other things.

Waited 45 minutes for a table and there were several empty tables visible. Desserts display had one cheesecake and very empty otherwise. Waitress took another 30 minutes to take our order and offer waters. The food took another 45 minutes even though it was simply two pasta dinners. Food was bland and no sauces, clam dish was inedible. Side dishes were completely forgotten. I realize this is a new restaurant but the entire staff needs serious restaurant training. Apologies will not excuse poor service. Meal was compensated by the owner but they have to come a long way before I will give another chance.

My husband and I showed up at 7p. We were seated at approx. 10 minutes later when a table opened up. Waitress takes our order. My husband and I sit and wait for 30 minutes before we get our appetizer. Then we wait for our food until 830p. Still has not arrived, manager has not touched base with ANYONE until a waitress tells her that there are customers complaining about the wait. Manager address 1 table! 1 table and stands there talking like there is no one else getting pissed. Managers excuse, the weather. Buck up buttercups! People have been working in this weather all day! The snow is not supposed to set in until midnight. Manager also stated they did not expect to get busy because of the weather outside. Ms. Manager, it is a friday. Friday’s no matter the wearher will usually be busy. Oh wait! There is more! Did I mention the table behind me still had not received drinks. Why you ask? NO ONE PROVIDED SERVICE! The table behind the husband, still had not received their appetizer. Makes me wonder if anyone at this restaurant knows how to run a business. The sad part about this is the hubs and I could not wait to try this place. What a waste.
