Boise recently got a Honey Baked Ham Co. on 2/20/23, I stopped by to check it out. I wanted to share these pictures with you, so you would know what to expect if you visited the store. Having never been to a HBHC before, I was surprised to see they have family meals available, as well as ready to make soups, condiments, and a large freezer case full of meats, side dishes, and desserts.
I tried The Ham Classic ($8.49) – Honey Baked Ham, topped with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and hickory honey mustard, on a flaky croissant. I wasn’t expecting an authentic croissant, but my bread was dry and my sandwich would have benefited from a little bit more liberal use of mayo and hickory honey mustard. The ham was okay.
If I was going to rate my experience based simply on the sandwich, I would give it 2 stars. However, I’m going to bump it up to 3 stars because the service was excellent! I think it’s important to give this business some slack because it is relatively new, and I’m sure like everyone else, they’re having a hard time finding people to hire, as well as challenges in maintaining their staff. I also think it’s hard to rate a business based on one menu item, and everyone can have an off day. I liked that there was a lot of available free parking, the convenient location next to the mall, and the nice indoor seating.
The ambience was casual. This business is set up so you can conveniently purchase and/or order items to go, or sit there and enjoy one of their lunch offerings. This business is located next to Panda Express. So if you’re picking up food to go, but have family members that don’t like ham, it would be very easy to pick up Chinese food for them instead.

Good store. Have been purchasing honey baked hams for over 30 years from different locations. Everyone really likes them. Some like the ham heated up where others like it cold to make sandwiches. Never disappointed.

My husband asked me to surprise him for lunch today so I decided to stop into The Honey Baked Ham Company today. It was my first time here and I was excited to see what kind of goodies they offered.
Walking in, the venue is bright and clean! They had a couple racks of goodies for sale. Soup mixes, sauces and cake. There were a a few tables for guests to have their meal it. It was very nice and open. I believe Joey was his name. He greeted me! Showed me the menu and gave me all the time to look it over. After a couple questions, I ordered the ham sandwich lunch.
My husband’s sandwich looked delicious! It was stacked with ham, fresh lettuce and tomatoes. It was on a buttery croissant. It also had a honey mustard on it as well. The lunch came with a bag of chips and a cold bottle of Sprite. My husband left no crumbs! He ate it all and he didn’t even offer me a bite. With that being said I’m sure it was a fantastic sandwich!
I’m happy I got to come in and experience this place. Joey was so kind! He made an amazing sandwich for my husband. I look forward to coming back and grabbing lunch for my husband again. And grabbing a bigger ham for Easter!

We ordered the ham Christmas pack that the website said fed 18-22 people. Ham, a small serving of cheesy potatoes, small serving of green bean casserole and a small serving of fried apples. The only thing that was good was the ham. There was no way the sides fed 18-22 people. We went out and bought a turkey breast (actually 3 of them), rolls and several other side dishes.
It was a bad situation. Not worth it at all. We had 22 people and there was literally no way it could have fed 5 people let alone 22.
Will NEVER buy this again.

Been forever since I’ve gotten a ham from honey baked. I mean you can get almost 3 for the price of one. I was looking forward to the glaze that they are known for.
The ham was mediocre on taste and in a lot of places the glaze was burnt and tasted like char.
So that’ll be the last time I purchase one.

My parents have gotten HBHs since I was little, I have gotten them for years for holidays and I have to say, the ham I got for our Easter dinner yesterday was by far THE WORST ham I have EVER had! It was like cardboard, and the lovely “brown sugar crust” was burnt. You’d think for $80 for a small ham, it would be stellar??!! RIGHT???!!! NO! I am so mad.

They were setting up for the Thanksgiving shoppers when we arrived, wanting to sit in the Cafe to eat one of their exceptional sandwiches and enjoy the meal and rest for a few.
They quickly made us feel welcome, set up a table and got our order in no time. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. The sandwiches and our sides were delivered to our table promptly. The food was WONDERFUL , the ladies sitting at the next table were very friendly and welcoming to us. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience if we planned it!
We will definitely be back!

They have the best sandwiches. The cobb salad is also to die for. We also bought a ham bone (had tons of meat left on it) and made some awesome ham and beans.

Had the honey baked croissant sandwich with their potato salad. So good. Service was excellent. They also have an assortment of ready to make soups available as well as their different sauces. Would highly recommend. They are right in front of Home Depot. I thought I would share that as we had a hard time finding this great little place.
