Formal Complaint Regarding Extremely Poor Service – Qdoba Mexican Grill (803 N 16th St, Milwaukee, WI)
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally report an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience at your Qdoba Mexican Grill location at 803 N 16th St in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
On a cold winter Saturday night around 11:00 PM, my partner and I entered this location simply looking to purchase dinner. What we encountered instead was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in a long time.
Immediately upon entering, I noticed that none of the staff were in uniform—no aprons, no name tags, and no professional appearance whatsoever. Employees were dressed as if they were at home or running errands. Several appeared unkempt, and the overall presentation of the staff was alarming for a food establishment.
When it became our turn to order, nearly every basic menu item we requested was unavailable. This included core ingredients such as steak, cheese, sauces, and multiple other items. On a busy Saturday night, especially for a location open until 3:00 AM, this shows a complete lack of preparation and management. Despite this, no alternatives, discounts, or compensation were offered.
I asked to speak with a manager, only to learn that the individual directly in front of me was the manager. His demeanor was careless and unprofessional, and he offered no attempt at service recovery. When I requested contact information for the general manager or corporate office, he stated he had none available. He also appeared disheveled and possibly under the influence, which raised serious concerns about leadership and workplace standards at this location.
The entire staff avoided eye contact, spoke under their breath, and showed no engagement with customers. There was no sense of accountability, urgency, or pride in their work. In today’s economy, customers work hard for their money. If customers do not matter, then clearly neither does the business being conducted.
This location reflects very poorly on the Qdoba brand. The lack of uniforms, poor hygiene, missing inventory, and ineffective management are unacceptable. The general manager of this store should be held accountable for allowing such conditions. Employees looked dirty, unmotivated, and unsupported, and the manager was clearly not fit to lead.
I am deeply disappointed and frankly disgusted by the level of service and professionalism displayed. I will be escalating this matter to corporate leadership, as no customer should be treated this way.
I expect this issue to be taken seriously and addressed promptly.
Sincerely,
Qiana Langston
My experience at this Qdoba location was absolutely unacceptable and completely unprofessional. A young black male employee with little twists/locs gave me the nastiest attitude and interaction for no reason from the start. After I PAID for my meal, he refused to complete the transaction properly and wouldn’t hand me my receipt. Instead, he told me to “pick up your food and grab your receipt yourself” from their franchise machine.
When I politely asked for his name so I could file a complaint, his exact response was:
“I’m not giving you shit.”
That alone is beyond disrespectful and should NEVER come from an employee representing any brand.
On top of that, another employee—who identified as non-binary—was in the back laughing loudly, taking personal calls, and discussing private matters that customers could clearly hear. Completely unprofessional behavior.
Because the situation escalated due to their immaturity and lack of customer service, I had no choice but to send the entire recorded ordeal to corporate. This level of disrespect, refusal to provide basic service, and overall behavior is disgusting and embarrassing for Qdoba as a company.
This location needs immediate training, discipline, and managerial intervention. I am utterly disgusted with the experience.
Started with burned chicken. They were very nice when we complained and replaced it generously.
2024:
Only problem was that they only had one kind of rice. Some problem with their supplier??? It’s so hard to avoid cilantro. Please don’t make it more difficult for us cilantro haters!
(How can anyone stand to eat that stuff?)
We had a discount on the app. It’s so hard to navigate their app to apply the discount. We just walk in to order and then scan from the app to get the discount.
