Our go-to place in Georgia. We love the food here. Always so fresh and delicious! The quality of food and overall standards are well maintained every single time. Never disappointed. The staff and owners here are very down to earth, humble, welcoming and very friendly! Love everything about this place. Please make sure to try Chicken 65 and garlic naan. You will not be disappointed, I promise! We always get Goat Biryani and Chicken 65, our favorites here. Cant wait to be back. 🙂

As an Indian brother born and raised in Georgia, I approve of this Bangladeshi restaurant’s quality of food. Don’t let looks fool you at first. Honestly, the food is tasty, spicy, and wonderful. I ordered chicken 65, Saag (spinach) paneer, lamb biryani (pilaf rice with lamb), chicken korma, and goat curry alongside a few orders of naan bread. I highly recommend this place and will be returning again.

Affordable Bangladeshi food with a very good service. I ordered the lamb Korma and it was more delicious than Indian version. It was not very spicy and slightly sweet which I really liked. The server (or manager?) was very nice and gave us a complimentary dessert.

I hate to say it, but I was disappointed in my visit here. I wanted so much to like it more.

My family agreed we’d try Deshi Street sometime during my recent visit to Atlanta. I was so exited to try a Bangladeshi restaurant, as I love Indian food so I figured I’d be bound to like this as well.

And I did like it- I enjoyed everything I tried. But it just wasn’t real memorable. First, all of the workers were super kind and did their best, but the service just really wasn’t great. They had some sort of event going on in the room next to the main, and it seemed like maybe they were struggling to balance that with serving regular visitors.

I tried the Shaak with chicken. That was probably one of the best meals out of our party of 5. Even my uncle who doesn’t like to try new foods liked it. We lovingly nicknamed it the “Bangladeshi collard greens”, as it literally looked like a funny version of them. But it was good.

The issue I think, was that none of the food really had that “oompf” factor. Most Indian food I’ve tried has strong spice factors, and can have a lot of heat so your taste buds are doing a dangerous yet attractive dance. But everything we had here was a bit more bland. I can’t imagine the spices are that different but it seemed to be the case. I really expected more from a flavor profile aspect.

I’d say the best thing we tried, though by far was the garlic naan. I do have to say that’s one of the best naans I’ve had in a while. I would’ve just sat and ate it by itself, which I don’t say often. We did enjoy the desserts of rice pudding and a soaked donut hole (i think?).

Overall, again I just wish I left wanting to come back to this place. But alas, I did not.

I have been eating at Deshi Street for 15 years. I cannot find any better Lamb Coconut Curry than Deshi Street. Lamb is tender, sauce is sweet by the coconut milk and thick to coat rice. Medium spice dances on the tongue playfully with the cardamom. Our other family favorite is Saag Paneer. The sauces are well balanced: not oily or, on the other side of the equation, watered down.

This little hole in the wall was awesome! The place was empty when we walked in, but the food was amazing. The paneer tikka masala was rich and flavorful (much better than Tabla’s), the lamb biryani was super flavorful, and they had a Bengali chicken dish that was packed with spice and depth (but they used chicken breast so it was a bit dry). Also had some garlic naan that was crisp and tasty. Super friendly service (from I’m guessing the owner), fair prices, and way better than you’d expect from such a quiet spot. Give this place a try — the food is very good and they look like they could use some business.

I give this place a visit every time I go to Atlanta. I personally recommend the shorshay lamb, as it’s something I’ve never been able to find elsewhere. It’s rich mustardy, spice-forward flavor pairs wonderfully with the lightly sweet coconut naan.

I am always met with kindness from the staff at this place, no matter the time of night I’ve been. The food is great, especially considering the prices. When I’ve ordered takeout, extra precaution was taken as my containers were wrapped in plastic to ensure nothing spilled.

Key takeaways – I notice a passion for customer service here, there is an opportunity for cultural exchange with a country whose cuisine is hard to come by, and there is hard work that keeps their doors open until 4 AM. These reasons alone are enough for me to support them with my business when I can.

Thanks Deshi Street!
