TLDR: Incredibly flavorful mexican food, can’t go wrong with the Enchiladas Suizas or the Pollo Norteño Fajitas (or any other classics).
Went with the rats, and the food at Fonda continues to hit. A bit pricey, but the drinks / apps / mains were all insanely flavorful (and had a kick, which we appreciate ️). Restaurant was way too cold upstairs, but service was solid.
Apps:
– Double Guacamole (not a must order, but mad good)
– Ceviche de Atun (sooo tasty)
– Croquetes de Jaiba (crab croquettes were so good, and spicy)
Mains:
– Camarones Adobadas (shrimp went crazy)
– Enchiladas Suizas (the best enchiladas I’ve ever had personally – insane flavor and no soggy corn tortilla taste)
Drinks:
– Skinny Plata (strong, tequila-forward cocktail that was decent)
Desserts:
– Tres Leches Cake (very nice, and light)

I’m not looking for a lot but everything here was great and the staff was accommodating. Vegetarian options, tasty drinks, lovely decor, helpful staff. Really cute interior too. Might be a bit loud. Whatever. Live a little!
Also though, don’t go with a person who will tell you that you’re sweating because you ate spicy and hot food. Also, don’t wipe that sweaty brow on them and expect them not to get angry.

Fonda is a standout dining experience, masterfully run by Christian and featuring the amazing skills of bartender Alexis. Adrian’s service was top-notch, making the visit truly memorable. The food was simply amazing, with each dish showcasing a commitment to quality and flavor. My partner and I came here for dinner last minute. It’s a cute cozy venue. I’d go again but I couldn’t quite give 5 stars simply due to service. I wish the waiter that initially greeted us actually said hello/greeted us. Instead he approached the table without saying anything and we were expected to jump right in to order. Something as simple as saying, “Hello there,” can ease into the service. The food and drinks were very good. However, the drinks took quite a while to make their way to us and we ordered essentially classic margaritas. My partner opted not to get a second drink because it might have taken too long. As far as atmosphere is concerned, Fonda is very cute inside and the bathroom was very clean. Nice place.

The meal was overshadowed by the fact that it was freezing in the downstairs dining space. Two heaters didn’t dispel the major chill. We should have asked to be moved. Our server started in a dress shirt and had added

The place is alright, purely talking about the food and the atmosphere. Its got a perfect atmosphere for a date night. Definitely get a reservation if you wanted to be seated at a reasonable time or risk standing around for over 20 minutes for a table. I got the Al pastor tacos. Meat was a little dry, pineapple was sparce and not very juicy. The hot sauce was very good and elevated the taco just enough to be a bit better than just good. The Hibiscus agua fresca was alright, not very sweet. Service once seated is pretty quick at least. Always attentive to your water replenishment at least. Not a fan of the lack of hispanic/mexican music in the restaurant. They have the soundtrack of a shopping mall.

I was greeted warmly by a server and the excellent service continued throughout my dining experience. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the queso fundido and the mole. I would definitely return. Side note, if you participate in United Mileage Plus Dining this is a mileage earning restaurant.
