The Tropics was a very nice experience. Went for a walk on the beach and around the harbor and stopped by for a drink. We both decided to sit outside and order some food. Grouper Bites were really good. The burger was good and the toppings were fresh. Chicken Tenders were just average but good. The onion rings were outstanding! Our server was super friendly and the food came out quickly.

It would’ve been more relaxing, if a situation had been handled better with an elderly patron and his dog. Reason why four stars.
My chicken tenders were the best I think I have ever had.I loved the batter on them. The coleslaw was good also, so was my margarita !!
Unfortunately, just about everything has breading and my friend is allergic to gluten, so he just had the cold shrimp.

We went for the view more than the food. We’re new to the area and our kids wanted to see the boats at the marina. Being end of season, almost half the menu was unavailable so we only got to try a couple of things. Food was good but nothing spectacular. Service wasn’t great but wasn’t bad either. Just middle of the road all around. Will update review next year when we come in the summer.

Nice place situated right on the lake next to the marina. Decent parking and seemed ADA compliant. The steak was seasoned very well and was great. The sides really made the overall meal disappointing. Choice of potato was chips or fries…not what I’d expect with a $30 steak. Veggies were from a frozen bag of mixed veggies, which was really disappointing. With a produce stand just a couple miles away, why not offer local fresh produce options? And offer proper potato options such as baked or mashed? Overall it was a nice place, but I won’t come back for steak.

Uncrowded, so immediate seating at the “best seat in the house” out on the deck. Good classic bar sandwiches and midwest fried fare. Beautiful ambiance overlooking the harbor. Casual and quick with great service.

Food wise – cannot say too much, since it is bar food. So I gave 4* , it is good, but there is always room for improvements, and also can add few more items to their menu.
Drinks are good, full bar and a variety of cocktail and beer choices.
Staff is friendly, easy going , if it’s slow there aren’t too many servers and sometimes you might need to wait a bit before placing your order.
Overall good place with good vibes, giving you an island-vacation type of mood to be in.

Went there on Saturday and Sunday after spending the day at the beach. Food was very good and service was great. Had the duck wontons and crab grilled cheese. 2 of us one day and 5 the next, everyone enjoyed their food. Sat outside with a view of the harbor.

We really enjoyed The Tropics. The food was great, the service was great, we loved the atmosphere and prices were fair for the portions you received.
We were in town fishing for 5 days and ate dinner at The Tropics 2 of those days. That’s a pretty good indicator that all the requirements for a night out were met.

Edit: we went back again and ordered the pizza, definitely upgraded to five stars based on the quality there. A medium pizza easily feeds three people, and it’s a great, crispy thin crust.
Diverse, simple menu with something that appeals to everyone (even puppies!), and daily specials. Even after a few drinks and a main, you can escape under $30 a head. The service is friendly and attentive.

Customers BEWARE!!! This is the most uppity place I’ve ever been to with an owner with a major attitude problem! He tried to put his hands on my husband when he tried to let the owner know that 2 items we ordered where never served with our meal. Violence was his answer instead of acknowledging the situation. Customers beware!! The owner snatched our leftovers out of my husband’s hands and threw our food into the kitchen! If I wasn’t on vacation I would have called the police.
