We had reservations for the water taxi and for dinner. When we got there, they had also given reservations to two large groups. They could only take one group so all the rest of us did not have a ride over and just had to leave. they need to have better organization

A unique and fun experience. We’ve done this several times and recommend it to all who visit the area.

Takes about 10-15 min or so. Sometimes you see dolphins which adds to it. The captains are engaging and have a good time with everyone on board. Drops you off at dock for Rum Bat restaurant which has good eats and not overly priced. Catch it back to return to the other side.

We enjoyed riding the water taxi over to Palm Island. The captain was very friendly and pointed out different things to us alo g the ride.
The fare is usually $6 per person (round trip) and this month is customer appreciation month so the ride is free!
We did tip!
We saw a manatee as we were heading back and he stopped and let us get a video.

The water taxi ride is normally only $6 per person (but actually free for the entire month of Aug 2025!). Not sure why people are saying it’s $20-30 for the Water Taxi listing in Maps. The cost of the average meal at the Rum Bay *restaurant* on the island is close to that, so the expenses for each different entity involved needs to be separated.

Took the water taxi to Rum Bay restaurant. Our captain, Captain Dave was amazing and accommodating! This is really a fun experience to enjoy before dining at Rum Bay. Thank you Captain Dave for being fun, informative, and so accommodating! We hope to see you again soon! Keep making your chowda!☺️

Waitress was rude. Never brought water to our table. The Cole slaw and mixed vegetables were tasteless. The ribs and shrimp were just ok. Ribs were nothing to write home about…burnt.
Gave us each one napkin to eat ribs? Waitress came to our table once after serving. Won’t be back.
