I had the Fiesta bowl and it was very good. I also had the queso and guacamole and chips and both were very good as well. My roommate has good things to say about the tacos. Convenient location.

From the first bite to the last crumb, this place feels like a well-kept secret Houston taco treasure ✨. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warm aroma of fresh spices and the kind of flavors that make you pause mid-bite and smile. The menu has that perfect everyday pricing that doesn’t skimp on quality — every taco, breakfast migas, and enchilada bursts with freshness and zest that rival pricier spots downtown. Reviewers rave about the authentic, crave-worthy tacos that are packed with vibrant ingredients and big flavor whether you’re grabbing lunch on the go or savoring a sit-down meal.

What really sets this place apart is the cheerful, friendly vibe — kind of like a home-cooked fiesta in a cozy setting. Patrons love how fast and clean service is, and there’s a feeling that the folks behind the counter genuinely care about crafting a great meal for you. From standout nachos to perfect breakfast tacos with just the right kick, this restaurant hits all the notes of what makes casual Mexican food unforgettable.

Whether you’re a taco purist or on the hunt for your new favorite lunch spot, this is one of those Houston gems you’ll want to return to again and again ️

I ordered a bacon, egg, and potato breakfast taco. This is what it looked like and mind you it was almost $5. Super small and 1 piece of bacon is ridiculous.

OMG! So pleasantly surprised by this little taco shop! It’s in a strip center and you walk up and order so it’s not fancy but in a town over run by Tex mex on every corner this place has something special!! It’s bright and colorfully decorated and very clean. But the most important thing is the fabulous spicy pulled pork taco. Best I have ever had!! Ask for the sauces to put on them. I loved the spicy green sauce and my husband liked the more mild variety. We also enjoyed a Baja fish taco and the suiza enchilada plate is pretty good too! Check this place out!

I can’t say enough good things about Hein at Luchi & Joey’s! He’s always so kind and patient, even when I have special requests with my order. The tacos are my favorite—fresh and made just right every time. I even found the cutest little crossbody bag for my phone and keys while waiting for my food! It’s such a fun spot where you can grab a bite and shop a little too. Thanks, Hein, for always making it a great experience!

I shouldn’t have waited so long to try this place! I now have a new favorite close to home. First of all, who doesn’t love tacos?! But wait… they have breakfast tacos ALL DAY! I love breakfast for dinner!
The restaurant is small, but offers plenty of seating, including chairs and tables outside. The interior is bright with vivid colors. They have trinket items for purchase at the register. It reminded me of what you may see in a Mexico City store front. The order taker was very friendly helpful with suggestions. I ordered the chips and salsa, one Pirata (beef, no onions), one egg with sausage and one egg with bacon. Everything was so tasty! The chips were warm and the red salsa was cool with just the right kick. All of the tacos were fresh, delicious and the perfect size. The beef in the Pirata was chopped and had the best flavor. The sausage breakfast taco had cubed sausage with perfectly scrambled eggs and the bacon taco (also with scrambled eggs) was delightful too. I can’t review this place without mentioning the salsas. They have a dedicated mini fridge for the 3 different flavors of salsas. You can get as many as you want. The “GREEN = HOT” is like the taqueria restaurants. It’s hot, but not too hot and the flavor is so good, you won’t be able to stop eating it. The “RED = MEDIUM” is what they give you with the chips. The blend has a perfect kick to it. Finally, the “CREAMY CILANTRO = MILD” is just as stated: creamy cilantro goodness! Each one was so good, there’s no way I can pick a favorite. I am so excited about my new find!
One suggestion I would have for the decision makers of this location: change the music. It doesn’t change my 5-star rating, but the tunes didn’t match anything in there. The music I heard was like a spa. With the bright colors and fun murals, I would think the music would be a more upbeat tempo. Again, doesn’t change the fact that I will be back, but I did notice it was the only thing “out of place”, so to speak.
Great job, L&J’s! You really have a good thing going there! I just can’t say enough about this place. I wasn’t expecting to be so impressed. LOVE IT and highly recommend!!!!!
(side note: I wasn’t ready to eat when I brought the items home. I put them in the oven on warm for a couple hours and they were still delicious! Imagine if I would have eaten them as they came off the grill!)

Have to admit I was a little concerned when I saw the amount of gringos eating here. But, the tacos were solid! I ordered three tacos and chips/ salsa. Pirata, Gringa, Chilango. All had amazing flavor profiles. My favorite was the Chilango, but I’m ready to try everything on the menu! Friendly service as well.

First time in today. Got the street tacos and one each of their most popular tacos. The street tacos were pretty good at a $13.50 price point. The individual tacos were a little steep at $4.90 each but they were fantastic. Alambre and Pirata they were called. I will be back.

Salsa is on point! Smooth, great taste and a little heat. I also had the Pulled Pork and Chilango tacos with corn tortillas/added avacado. The meat was flavorful. The portion was abundant. I added the salsa as a sauce to both tacos. Overall, very satisfying experience! Staff was friendly and accommodating. If I were asked for a suggestion.. a salsa/toppings bar would take this over the top.
