The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was prepared with love, authenticity, and incredible attention to detail. Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. It was the kind of meal that brings people together, sparks conversation, and creates unforgettable memories.
Made in Italy was the perfect setting for an intimate celebration with our closest friends and family. Warm, welcoming, elegant, and cozy all at once, exactly what we planned for our wedding day. The atmosphere made everyone feel comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely cared for.
If you are looking for a place where food, heart, and hospitality come together flawlessly, this is it. We didn’t just celebrate our wedding here, we became part of the family. Thank you, Made in Italy, for giving us a day we will cherish forever. ❤️
The “Pick 4” interested me more. The first week I tried to participate, I found out just how popular this promotion was, since a lot of the entrees quickly sold out. This really impressed me. The idea that items actually sell out tells me they are made fresh and only a limited amount are made. So I tried again on a different week and made sure to place my order super early in the day.
The restaurant itself is located in downtown Glen Ellyn. Not that far from the Metra train station. The restaurant is on the smaller and more intimate end. I only spent enough time inside to pick up my order (since the “Pick 4” is take out only), but I got good vibes about its ambience and their staff was friendly.
The food itself blew me away. I was expecting Olive Garden or Maggianos quality (both of which I have ordered take out), but Made In Italy’s food far surpassed them!
You get two large sides. I got the Minestrone soup, which had tons of flavor and was at the perfect temperature when I got it home. I also got the house salad. This was my only disappointment. It was lettuce with some cherry tomatoes tossed in with a vinaigrette salad dressing. Pretty basic. Next time I will probably order two soups. But the complimentary bread more than made up for the salad. The bread was good quality.
For the 4 entrees. I got the Steak Vesuvio and was not expecting a full steak! I got Risotto Pescatore, which was more like a Spanish piaya than a risotto. The restaurant was very generous about the seafood they included. I got the Short Rib Genovese, which had a nice ragu sauce. And I got the Lobster Cappellacci, which was my favorite out of the 4 entrees. You could definitely taste the lobster in the dish and the sauce was creamy and luxurious.
The portions that the restaurant provides were a good size and it felt like eating family style (where everyone shares and tries a little bit of everything). Both my girlfriend and I ate well and there is plenty of leftovers. The restaurant might be a great sit down place, but I would not sleep on the “Pick 4” on Wednesdays. It is a terrific way to try different menu items and is a great value!
A huge shout-out to Angelo and Jackie for their amazing patience and guidance throughout the planning process. With so many moving parts, they made it all come together seamlessly! The servers, Jackie and Michelle, were exceptional and always on point. And Angel, our bartender, wow! People are still raving about those martinis!
Angelo didn’t just stop at being a fantastic chef; he also played valet for my husband’s arrival and took the time to introduce himself and the restaurant to our guests, making the evening feel extra special. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the food and the fantastic time everyone had.
Many of my friends who had never heard of Made In Italy are already planning a return trip! It’s a hidden gem, and I’m so glad we chose it for this special occasion. Here are just a few of the 800 photos we captured that evening to remember all the fun!
If you’re looking for a place to host a special event or just want to enjoy some delicious Italian cuisine, look no further than Made In Italy. You won’t be disappointed!
Fortunately we were able to sneak in during this super busy Saturday evening during Glen Ellyn restaurant week and let me tell you, the food… the desert… the service was ALL FIVE STAR!
I love that you always feel like you are a part of the family and that each bite feels like you are eating in your grandmother’s kitchen.
Kudos to the owners, kitchen staff, and a huge THANK YOU to Michelle who treated us like we were in her own home breaking bread together.
The bread was great and the server was going to get more but never did. Out food came out quickly so we let it go. The salad was fresh but basic.
My wife ordered a Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato for dessert and got a cherry one instead. Again, this was on as it was more than she wanted so I helped out since I love cherry.
Overall, we had very good dishes and enjoyed it. The service hiccups aren’t great but didnt detract for us. The worst part? Our table was frustratingly wobbly.
