The restaurant is amazing. I love the location and the welcoming environment. The staff is very friendly, and the tea was perfectly sweet and refreshing. I had the waffles with catfish, which were delicious, and my girlfriend had the fried shrimp with candied yams and macaroni and cheese, which she absolutely loved. We enjoyed it so much at lunch that we came back again for dinner!
I definitely recommend trying the fried chicken wings, collard greens, and candied yams you really can’t go wrong. Hands down, this is one of the best soul food restaurants in the Capital Region. To top it off, the owner personally introduced himself, and he was a genuinely nice guy.

Great food spot!
We tried out some Mac and cheese and corn bread as well as the red velvet cake.
The Mac and cheese is AMAZING!!!! The flavor is so good and it’s simply delicious!
The corn bread was good too, but the Mac and cheese was the star of the show.
Some suggestions: better lighting in the outside, the place seems closed sometimes because it’s so dim. We could have gone much sooner but it always looked closed. The food is amazing. Can’t wait to go back!
** they also do not accept cash, card only. They also have some self order kiosks. Very modern.

This spot, is the spot if you’re looking for good cooked food. I live in Syracuse,NY and whenever im in Albany NY this gotta be a stop. Ive had the Grill chicken with Mac and Cheese with candies yams . This time I had the same sides with the lamb . The price is fair. The serving size is good. You’ll be satisfied.

The fried catfish here was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside. It’s definitely a standout dish worth trying. The overall experience was good, but I do feel the food is on the expensive side, a bit too high for what you get. Still, the quality and taste are there, just be prepared to pay more than usual.

We stopped by this establishment. Now for a soul food restaurant I would expect to smell it outside…nothing..you dont even smell the food brewing in the restaurant. First take they only take card no cash and you are forced to use an automated system to place your order. So no human interaction at all. I get these types of systems but still feel if you have those type of systems for good service those should be optional and I should be able to place my order with a human.The establishment was very clean especially the bathroom. We ordered grilled chicken rice bowl (jerk flavor),salmon dinner (classic flavor) with mac n cheese and greens and wing dinner (8 wings) with collard greens and yams. The bowl was the best food out of everything nice little kick to the flavor of chicken and the cheapest meal out of all (12 dollars) and my son liked it. Fish was dry.. chicken was okay at best.The mac n cheese and collard greens and yams were not good..at all.. almost tasted like it was cooked last week..old. I still am gonna give this restaurant one more shot but it honestly wasnt great. 2/5 at best.

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!!!. I ordered online and it was super easy. When I arrived the food was ready and the service was A1! Very helpful and friendly staff and THE FOOD WAS BOMB!! I’m not from this area but I travel for work. Very hard to find great restaurants with great food. I had wings and Mac and cheese with red beans and rice. When ever I’m in the capital region I WILL BE BACK. BLESS!!!

So you know I had to go back and get something different and when I tell you there’s something different every day I mean it but oh my gosh that sweet jerk sauce with the fried shrimp went perfect. I love the owners attitude. I love her aura. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant everybody who works there so pleasant good vibes all around and the food is amazing. I love how personable she is and how easy it is to talk to her, that’s how it should be. Thank you thank you thank you for y’all hospitality I appreciate you all. Can’t wait to purchase that sweet jerk sauce in a bottle. Golden

Ordered a catfish and 8 piece fried chicken combo through Grubhub. When I received my order the fried chicken was missing. I contacted them directly and the owner reached out to apologize and delivered a fresh new meal himself! Was very grateful for their customer service and willingness to fix their mistake. Overall the food was great. Will definitely be returning.

I went in person to place my to go order, then sat there for over an hour waiting on just macaroni. I ordered two plates, one catfish dinner and one chicken dinner. The entire time I was waiting for my order I noticed that I didn’t smell any food cooking! There was absolutely no aroma of anything. I started looking around and noticed that their kitchen is completely ran off warmers, which is ironic because there’s no heat in this establishment whatsoever. After about an hour of waiting I was offered a “free drink”, however the drink station isn’t working and the only thing they had to give was sweet tea. This tea was awful, it was super sugary and maybe sat for hours. Finally, my order managed to come out and my chicken was cold, my fish was cold, my mashed potatoes was cold but the macaroni was luke warm. Unfortunately I we were not able to finish our meals because everything was extremely salty. This kitchen is lazy and there’s nothing worth eating.
