El Sabor is on the corner of Penn & Main. They feature a bar area, high & low tables with bench & chair seating. A smaller triangular layout, this dining room still packs decent seats. I cashed in a birthday coupon for a free quesadilla. A great sharable, made fresh. Good happy hour specials too. Their salsas are good to sample. Ask to taste all 3. Portions are generous. Their tacos are very good. You wouldn’t think beans & rice would be anything special but they seem better than other Mexican spots in Pittsburgh. I’d recommend El Sabor for a small group gathering and even for a nice Happy hour stop, catching a game on their TVs with a taco & a draft.

All around great experience and meal! I got the Chicken Chimichanga with street corn and yuca fries. The Chimichanga was loaded with seasoned shredded chicken and tasted great! The Yuca Fries were also very good as it was my first time having Yuca. Great food, definitely would go back! The inside has a big full bar and the atmosphere is inviting

This is my 2nd time here. First time was a year ago. Both times were take out orders. First time I went food was amazing. This time we just ordered 2 chicken quesadillas. By time we went to pick up our order it was already 5 min past the time they said it will be ready. We sat there for almost 30 min due to them saying they had a catering order to get out. Mind you there were only 6 other customers there. While waiting they didn’t offer any chips since we had to wait. Once we got our food, drove 5 min to get home just for my chicken quesadilla to look and taste how it looks. Never in my life have I had a soggy quesadilla, not even from Taco Bell. I’m so disappointed in the lack of quality they gave us. When have you ever been ble to stick a fork in a well prepared quesadilla.

Better than I expected.
Food was good, service was prompt. Went in during happy hour on a Thursday and they weren’t busy at all.
Tacos were a little on the expensive side but they did not skimp on portions.
The margarita was just okay, but understandably so as I got their cheapest option. They seemed to have a good variety of cocktails for a place like this.
Would recommend and will definitely be back.

Small little hole in the wall restaurant in Penn Avenue. It’s pretty cute on the inside. I sat at the bar and we were served pretty quickly. The bartender was very nice. I ordered the Fajita Trio with Steak, Shrimp and Chicken. The beans were watery and the rice was bland and hard. I will say that the steak was a decent flavor as well as the peppers and onions. For a quick bite it wasnt bad but I do prefer other places to this one.

Came here today with my friends and our server Brad was on point! He was very attentive, came to check on us, and recommended some good drinks to us!
The food was very delicious and the portion size was huge – I loved the shrimp ceviche especially because it came with plantain chips instead of traditional tortilla chips! The restaurant has a very intimate vibe to it and everyone was friendly. P.S. ABSOLUTELY get the fried ice cream! My friends loved their salad, soups, and fajitas and we all agreed to come back!

My first time here was during the month they opened during COVID and just recently started going again now that I moved nearby. Simply put, if you live in or around the city and have never been, get ready to become a regular. If you’re a tourist visiting town, get ready for a memorable meal.
The Baja Burrito is unbelievable. I’ve had it multiple times with steak, chicken, shrimp, and beef and it doesn’t matter, it’s so good that I’m writing this enthusiastic review at 10pm on a Friday. The house-made chipotle sauce is so good you could drink it straight.
I had the Chori-Yuca for the first time the other day when a friend was in town visiting and it’s unreal. I literally put down my Baja Burrito and was all in on the Chori-Yuca.
Their chips and fresh-made guacamole are top-tier, nothing more to say there. And operationally they run a well-oiled machine. Pickups are fast and efficient. Dining in or hanging at the bar is always a vibe with TVs for games, a cool bar setup, great windows and lighting. It can be a quick solo meal, takeout, casual date night, or watching a game….Bottom line: El Sabor is 5 out of 5 for any occasion.
Again, if and when you go for the first time, it will be the first of many. The high ratings are no accident, and I’m gladly adding in my highest recommendation!

Absolutely one of the tastiest Mexican foods I’ve had in a long time. Loved it!! Ordered chicken quesadillas and shrimp ceviche and they both were perfect!! The spicy sauce with ceviche was too spicy for me but I liked it. I didn’t like my Tijuana style (soft corn flour) tacos because they were soggy when I got them at home, so I’ll probably try the Pittsburgh style (flour tortillas) for tacos.

Dropped into El Sabor while visiting Pittsburgh—wanted to see how their tacos stacked up.
For the area, they’re decent. Nothing groundbreaking, but they hold their own. I went with the chorizo. It was well-balanced, not greasy, and had a nice flavor.
The drinks were just okay. The service was good and the vibe was chill enough for a casual bite.
If you’re in the neighborhood and craving Mexican, El Sabor’s a solid option—but not something I’d go out of my way for.

Best fajitas in Pittsburgh! I struggled to find good fajitas in Pittsburgh for the longest time and am so happy to have found El Sabor. Their Pastor tacos, street corn and yucca fries are also some of my other favorites. Always a great atmosphere and Staff is super friendly.
