The food was delicious 10/10 and our server Sam was top tier. She was very good.. we had the catfish, shrimp and grits as well as the Mississippi catfish. We also had a mango mimosa. We took lambchops home for dinner. Will definitely be back. The Harris Family from Akron,Ohio

First coming in we wasn’t greeted. The lady in the front horrible customer service skills. Got smart for no reason. Man came from the back yelling, & asking us did we have a spoon of food for the homeless. He stated he was the owner and can do whatever he wants. Just unpleasant . Food was mid no flavor frl grease needed change. Server was 9/10. Oh and no heat! They had heaters but it didn’t work still cold.

I really wanted to like Double Nickel, but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The dish looked poorly presented, more like everything was mixed together and placed on the plate without much care. There was also a lot of cheese, which felt like it was trying to cover the overall taste rather than enhance it.
The good part: the staff were friendly and welcoming, and they’re honestly what saved the experience. Service was pleasant and professional.
If you come here, manage expectations, the atmosphere and people are nice, but the food quality and presentation did not match what I was hoping for.

I thought I loved Cajun food.
I clearly didn’t even know what it was until Double Nickel. In[censored]credible!! Excellent staff, a warm vibe and great tunes. 100/10
Cajun shrimp & (the creamiest) grits. With a side of potatoes because I had to try them. Hubs had the chicken gumbo. Off the charts good.

This food is fantastic. Most definitely try the Catfish with Shrimp and Grits. It gets busy, at least on Browns Sundays. We waited a while for our server to come over and acknowledge us, but once she did everything was great. Will definitely be back to try more. Almost forgot get the Lamb Chops

I couldn’t wait to try the French Toast after seeing an influencer rave about it. I ordered it the way he described—“24 Karat Gold French Toast.” The server brought pancakes instead (easy mix-up since it’s written differently on the menu), but I was fine paying for both & placed another order. She then let me know they were out of the gold flakes, which was a little surprising since it was only 10 a.m. on a Sunday.
When the French Toast finally came out, it was missing the whipped cream that the menu listed. That said, it was still absolutely delicious! Next time we’re in Cleveland, we’ll be back, but next time I’ll make sure to double-check that everything is available and comes as described on the menu.

Double Nickle is generally my referral of point for Brunch Vibes if anybody ask me. The food, the cost and the atmosphere. You cannot beat the price for the location! Plus the food portions are amazing. Our women’s church group went here and we totally enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere was welcoming as always. Lydia open them doors right at 9:59 am honey and we walked in all 14 of us. We were patient as we know this restaurant does not offer the move of tables and etc… but Lydia and her team treated us so WELL! I mean food was on point, hot and timely. Even the music vibes were appropriate for our taste and beyond! I appreciate her honesty letting us know things and we were patient in every moment. Shout out to the table cleaners as well keeping the flow, flowing. So whenever you are in town or live in cleveland stop here you will be pleased! This review is NOT paid is my honest opinion

The hostess couldn’t have been less interested in welcoming us at the door, or showing us to our table… Our server was unengaging, almost as though she was unexpectedly covering for someone else…and the guy tasked with clearing tables, could not put his phone away long enough to notice that the floor needed to be swept as well…The room was cold, with a small space heater, that was not neatly tucked against the wall, as it should have been, to help with the temperature…and the music…I hope you like the latest Hip-hop and R&B, exclusively, because that’s all you’re going to get…and not the clean version either! The food…that was the high point…it was well presented, warm and tasty…Kudos to the kitchen! The Double Nickel is the kind of restaurant that you hear about, and look forward to experiencing, then never return after you do…

I was with a party of 5; 4 adults and my 4yr old grandson. The greeter was rude, I explained to the greeter that we aren’t from cleveland. Once we were seated, 10 minutes into our meal their dishwasher employee came to the dining area and heckled our table and others. I asked our server who was that she said oh that’s just our dishwasher. My bill had a 18% gratuity automatically added which made my bill 246.00 dollars which I didn’t dispute. It just wasn’t worth the lousy experience. Moreover, their was a issue with me ordering a Margherita and a double shot of Hennessy. After 10 minutes of wrangling about bar rules the server eventually brought the additional drinks. Mind you double nickel has a full bar, I still don’t get that misunderstanding.

My family and I tried this restaurant yesterday. The food was phenomenal, service was excellent, atmosphere was very nice. You guys should definitely expand to other cities. We came from out of town. We would love to see you in Buffalo NY. The young lady told us that you will be expanding to Houston. They are in for a treat. I will definitely come back next time im in Cleveland.
