Hidden gem with delicious food located inside a semi-abandoned mall. Whenever I’m in town for work, I stay nearby and often pick up their buffet style take-out for supper. The mixed vegetables are my favorite and the various chicken options I’ve had have always been tasty. I usually get the 1 meat + 2 side combo with an additional side and have enough food for at least 2 meals. The food is served hot and always tastes fresh during the times I’ve visited, usually weekdays after work or during lunchtime. All the staff is polite and personable and the older well-dressed lady is always so sweet and complimentary, even with a slight language barrier.
Because there is almost nothing else on that back side of the mall, there is no traffic and plenty of close parking so I am in and out in 5 minutes.
Why eat ultra-processed fast food when you can have nice-sized portions of better food served quickly and for a good price while also supporting a small local business? Ignore the shady bando-looking mall surroundings and don’t miss out on Tokyo Express!

I went there today to try the food since I wanted to get some Chinese food and I haven’t been to north lake mall in a long time.
When I entered the lady in front waved at us to go to her. She is a very nice lady, patient and overall great customer service.
All the food was fresh, hot, and tasty. The portions and price of the food were very good too. I got Mongolian chicken which was very good, fried rice and greens beans as well which were also very good. She let me try the peach drink which was very refreshing and good.
I recommend if you’re in the area for some good Chinese food, please come support and try it!

North lake Mall is under renovation so very less foot fall of customers so usually you don’t expect good quantity of food available at food court of these mall but Tokyo Express Impressed us.. Fresh and Delicious Aroma pulling everyone towards it like magnet..
All trays filled like mini mountain.. smelt good and the lady was a true gem.. so polite and friendly.
She greeted everyone so well.. a friendly welcome. Offering samplers..
After Panda Express (being one of my favorite’s) I came across this place.. neat and clean.. well organized.. all chicken items.
I don’t prefer pork or beef so for me it was the best..
Price — worth .. value for money
Food — delicious..
Chow mien… or Fried rice both were well cooked.
Spicy chicken was delicious
The chicken egg roll and veg rolls were tasty
Overall a Delicious, Polite Friendly and ever lasting experience..

Although Northlake Mall is practically dead the food court is still surviving. Tokyo Express being one of the places that’s still standing. Their food is good and flavor has been consistent for YEEEEARS. They will let you sample the food before buying, too. Portions are a good size.

The last in the green has the most horrible manners. She was extremely rude to me for asking for change for a dollar. She told me not to come back and ask…in the rudest way possible in front of all the other customers after my family and I ordered their outrageously overpriced, crappy Asian food. If I could give them a 0, I would!
