I was in the mood for a proper comfort food breakfast. So I went on down to Scenna’s Family Restaurant in Niles, Ohio. This is the quintessential cozy Ohio restaurant for sure. I loved my waitresses, she had a southern Ohio accent for sure & was just the sweetest. My seating options were tables, booths or at the counter, I chose a table. I ordered “The Mess” a big omelet with everything in it. I also order 1 buttermilk pancake & toast. I love real buttermilk pancakes, my waitress said I wouldn’t be disappointed, I was not. The pancake was awesome, such a nice size & unbelievable tasty. The Omelet was huge, I couldn’t finish it, I’ll finish it up tomorrow. I did take advantage of the bottomless cup of coffee, my waitress was on point every time it got a little low. I really enjoyed my morning here, the atmosphere was just a down home feel. You really have to have a meal here, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

One of our regular eating places. We always enjoy our meals here. Family run restaurant with home cooked meals. They have real mashed potatoes! Not instant. My husband and I are usually there sometime in Thursday at least. One of the daily specials for Thursday is Pan Fried Chicken Livers! There are daily specials as well as lunch specials. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have homemade soups daily. Each one I have had has been delicious. The prices are very reasonable. We tried the onion rings, best onion rings ever!

I went there to meet an old friend and we were pleasantly surprised because the food was rather good and the service was pretty good also. I didn’t give 5 stars because they were out of my first 2 breakfast selections and it was a bit pricey for breakfast. Otherwise it was a good experience. I’ll try it again.

So my business and residents are within the area lol and somehow I have never noticed this place existed! Shoot me now, because it’s impossible to miss 🙂 let me tell you what lol these people are awesome and the food is delicious and everything is homemade and you know that they actually care about you by the way they cater to your needs without being overzealous or pestering. Five stars on food 5 stars on service 4 stars on atmosphere 5 Stars overall so that is a grand total of 19 out of 20 possible Stars! I had a double black and blue cheeseburger with bacon and caramelized onions as well as Jack Daniels sauce and jalapenos Not only was it monstrous, but it was amazing. They even allowed me to get a small order of onion rings as a side instead of my fries:-) and when I saw my wife’s chicken wings I was jealous lol you guys definitely know what you’re doing! I will certainly be returning just sad I missed breakfast lol

My husband and I have been going here for awhile and the food is hit or miss as we have learned what to get and what not too. The service is good but it is a very small place where your neighbor is only a foot away. With that being said the other day we went in to have a couple burgers and thank goodness we were almost done eating because these two very old people came in pushing a stroller and it was not a baby but a dog. Now I have a dog and I love them but I would never bring him into a restaurant crowded with people and then sit there petting the dog while fur is flying everywhere into the air. This animal was not helping the blind or any kind of service animal ( emotional support or not c’mon). If you can’t leave “baby” as she kept calling it at home to eat for an hour then cook at home. I was a little grossed out that the restaurant would allow them to do this? Can’t be the first time? The mall or even a grocery store is one thing but a tiny crowded restaurant where everyone is crammed together in one little area is not my idea of a nice dinner out with someone else’s dog hair in my food or drink. Most people had the same reaction on their faces when they entered with the stroller containing the white shaggy terrier mix. I’m sure other patrons wanted to get up and leave just as I did…and I did! Check please! I don’t think we will be returning any time soon if ever now. I know some will say that kids are much dirtier and carry more germs than dogs, to those people have at it, the place is all yours. And what about anyone with dog allergies these people just don’t take that into consideration. Also, I do believe it is against the law in Ohio to allow that anyway unless you have an outdoor patio where no animals pass through the eating or food prep areas and are OUTSIDE.

Highly disappointed, I am not one to knock a family owned business I love supporting them but this experience was terrible. I have been here 1 time before and so today we wanted to try it again. I ordered mozzarella sticks and a meatball sub and my hubby ordered the alio olio or whatever it’s called. The salad with the meal had 1 cherry tomato, not so fresh lettuce 1 beet and 5 croutons. The mozzarella sticks were very brown, hot but tasted a tad burnt. The pasta was literally shrimp, angel hair pasta in an inch of oil butter and garlic powder. He tried to doctor it up himself and it still tastes like noodles in water . He heard the cook or someone say they had no oven for my sub so he asked if I needed to change my order and they said no well needless to say I should have. The bread was cold the meatballs were lukewarm and the sauce looked like it had been sitting. Barely any cheese and just looked sad. So the waitress took off the $20 pasta but charged $5 for I kid you not she wrote Italian and ranch. Which were the little dressing cups.

My husband and I went to this restaurant on 9/2/2025. Around 5:30-6:00 pm. My husband ordered veal parm, I ordered the lasagna with a salad! The salad tasted dirty, the sauce on the lasagna and the veal parm, was awful. I didn’t eat all of mine. We got home, and we were both so sick, throwing up, cramping in our stomach, that it was so bad we couldn’t stand up! This was the 2nd time eating here, and I can tell you, we will NEVER go back! Worst ever!!

The kind of old-style restaurant we all like. Friendly staff that makes sure you’re okay. Food is homemade. They even wrap up your leftovers, my luncheon came with bread and my waitress even gave me extra in the bag. Go here, you’ll thank me.
