All around a great outdoor fried food and ice cream joint! Burgers were satisfying (the bacon is worth the extra ) and the ice cream was good quality! The cheese curds exceeded expectations and the fried pickles were good too. NOTE that this place is CASH ONLY. Overall pretty fast and good customer service, although a guy who came out back to clean part of the outdoor space (seemed like he could be the manager/owner) had a pretty rough attitude. Thought he was joking with us about a previous family’s mess but we realized he was real angry. Everyone has tough days, but sometimes those situations that aren’t a big deal make you wonder if he’ll say something to the next group about your family . Anyway, great spot!

When you see a huge crowd outside an ice cream place, you have to go around the block and come back! Lots of people! The line moved fast and the twist cone was perfect! Do not let the line scare you! They are fast! And they were relaxed enough that my husband was able to put his change away while the guy held the second cone for him. Customer service rocked! Thank you! Best ice cream in our 3,500 mile trip. So far!

Last time we ate at Dairy Grill, I bit down into something hard in my black bean burger and cracked one of my bottom right molars. I had to have an emergency filling done on it in Petoskey and will have to have a crown put on it when we get back home to Texas. I called and spoke to Terry, the owner about it. This is going to cost me close to $2,000 to get my tooth completely fixed. Terry didn’t really seem to care. At first I wanted him to check with his insurance to see if he would be able to help me out, then I texted him back and said that I had changed my mind and that I would take care of the cost myself. Terry never responded. This has been a huge ordeal for me. I’ve never had any teeth issues other than a cavity or two over the years. We loved eating here and I am so sad that we won’t be eating here anymore.
I love the black bean burger and my hubby loves the half pound burger. We also enjoy the onion rings, cheese curds and of course Ashby’s ice cream. Everything is always fresh and delicious and we always eat here when we are visiting all the way from Texas!

We stopped here for ice cream. They have mostly soft serve but a handful of hard scoop ice cream. We got a superman cake cone, two avalanches, and a sundae. They were very generous proportions. I deducted a star for atmosphere, Only three picnic tables and mostly in the sun. And the menu was jumbled and confusing. I’ve never experienced that before.

Outdoor tables were nice and clean. Service polite and friendly and quick. Food was delicious. You can taste the freshness of a handmade patty. Pickle chips were crunchy and thin. Probably the best I’ve had. All around 10/10. Would definitely go back again.

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a couple of burgers and onion rings. Staff was friendly and the burgers were fresh and tasty. Very affordable and good quality. Just be rest to pay cash.

Everything was amazing! They were very fast and their products are great. That said don’t order or at least ask what you’re getting when it’s comes to ordering your dog a treat. I ended up ordering the pup cup, there’s not even a dog treat on it. It’s just a soft serve ice cream in a plastic dish.. Milkshakes and everything else on the menu are amazing though. Also their sizing portions are great this is a medium in the photo. Just disappointed in the pup cup and how I was talked to when I asked about it. I felt a bit disrespected by the tone and the way owner talked to me when I inquired on the issue. I’ll still give them 5 stars though…
