This is a relaxed, comfortable place to eat and socialize. There was a line at 5 but there were plenty of places to sit. After talking with the staff, getting there around 7 is best. We enjoyed our food & drinks.

This place makes the BEST specialty cocktails in the area. Prices are higher but the drinks are soooo good. Group of 6 of us. We also went on a night that they had food. We had the Thai chicken pizza, buffalo burger, mushroom burger. Sooo good! Gets crowded, loud and tables in main bar are small, just be prepared for that. Will go back for sure.

Always love it here, we drive about an hour just for The Barred Owl. Tasty drinks and great food on the weekends courtesy of Fiddlehead Kitchen. Does get a little loud when full, could use some acoustic treatment. Worth the trip, check it out!

Stopped in from out of town. The Barred Owl is a very cool place with a great ambiance. The staff was nice and cordial, made me feel welcomed. They had two chefs doing a “pop-up” food service that evening as well. It was impressive. I highly recommend this establishment.

Without a doubt he best cocktail lounge, speakeasy in the Midwest! Crafted cocktails, stellar wine selection, chill vibes & decor-this place has it all! And if your lucky enough to come in when the Fiddlehead Kitchen is serving up food, you are in for a treat! Big city flavors with smalltown love, what more could you want!

Very impressive decor, to say the least. Intimate lighting, cozy seating, just enough space all coupled with the music makes the ambiance there simply enchanting. Jill & Tanner are absolutely stellar behind the bar. The cocktail menu is sophisticated. The place just oozes style and class. Definitely a must visit in Balsam Lake. Cheers

Never had a cocktail there I didn’t thoroughly enjoy to the last drop. And if you reorder, it tastes perfectly identical to the last. My only input would be to add some acoustic tiles as when it gets busy, it really loud and hard to visit/hear. But other than that- love the place!
