Where everybody knows your name great food, great staff, reasonable prices. Fun events like Quizzo, live outdoor music on summer Sundays and Appalachian music every first Wednesday of the month on half Price burger night. Taco Tuesdays. Check out the Koi, turtles, ducks in the canal while you eat and walk along the Schuylkill River Trail, or a kayak in the Schuylkill Canal. Fun place!

Omg so cute. Feels cozy, customer service was excellent, taco Tuesday was tasty and cheap, beer selection was really interesting and off the charts. I had two tilapia tacos and a fun craft beer for $13 while sitting along the river watching the ducks and fish. Also, there’s a quarter machine you can use to feed the fish and ducks! :’) and the proceeds go to some conservation type efforts, just can’t remember what.
And to top it off, it was a stop along the Underground Railroad!
Lovely afternoon.

I was so hoping to love this place because its location is incredible.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the story.
I came there for late lunch/early dinner on a Thursday, beginning of October, the weather was perfect, we set outside.
I ordered the famous brisket sandwich because the smell of the smoker outside is what got me in. Now here the thing, in my opinion, there is not a chance that brisket was made that day, I BELIEVE they make loads of brisket and either freeze them or refrigerate them.
There was absolutely no reason why my brisket will taste old and be dry as a desert – almost zero moister along with zero fat.
The onion rings I orders were absolutely frozen when I ordered them, I received them barely warm and not all the way done, the first taste, tasted like oil – bad.
Unfortunately, the French fries that came with my daughter’s kid meal were the same, old, sad and simply taste like oil.
I really want to believe they had a bad day today or maybe it’s the change of season – which also not suppose to happen but I would give this place another chance if I’m in the area, only because I really want to love it.
Additionally, they say they charge 4% extra to use a card which is ridiculous – I don’t care if you raise the price for the entire menu by 5% – it feels better than charging someone extra just to use a credit card.
In reality, I was charged $19 plus tax for the brisket sandwich that was $16 in the menu. In reality, 4% would have been $16.64 plus tax.

My family and i stopped here for lunch on the way home from the expo center, great find!! Friendly staff, great food, decent prices. My family also liked that there are games available to play while you wait…we grabbed some trivia cards to pass the time, which wasnt long! The highlight of the restaurant is the scenery, we came during winter, and were able to skate on the frozen Schukyl!! We plan to come back in the summer to have lunch and go kayaking. Rentals are offered there, and if you are into fishing, they have a bait vending machine, lol!

Hidden spot off the beaten path. Waitress did her best to keep up with everyone. I wasn’t overly impressed with the ribs or the chicken. All the flavor was outside on the skin. However the potato salad was awesome. The wife had a chicken sandwich which she absolutely loved.

1st time here after an event and a Google search. The menu caught our attention and we were not disappointed with Logan’s recommendation of the Cheesesteak Brisket. What a tender, full of meat, delicious sandwich!! The grilled veggies were a good complement if you did not want the delicious fries. (It comes with chips). Will definitely return for more brisket and to try the burgers! Would be great to be outside on a nice day.

Fabulous day at the river!
We were out for a group bike and came for lunch not knowing The Manatees were playing at 3, bonus!!!
Food took awhile because there were several parties but it was worth the wait. Our server was helpful with info about food choices. Love the delicious bourbon bbq sauce but COLD cornbread was disappointing.
We wish Fitz would get a better system to allow for individual checks or dividing a bill using a handheld device like most establishments have these days.

The staff is amazing. Tara was exceptional. The location is really nice. The food is meh. Super dry brisket. Overcooked brussels. Day old potato skins rolling in grease. We couldn’t eat it

I ordered the chicken and waffles – I must have been the unlucky guy – the chicken, bacon seemed to be from the day before. And the waffles crumbled like a stale bread. But my wife liked her meal – she had the BBQ ribs. The bacon wrapped plantains was to my liking but the brisket egg rolls were a bit dry, even with the dip. I liked the ambiance but, I would find it hard to return for a meal.
