We just went to pick up some goodies for my birthday today. We got home and my daughter couldn’t wait to try everything. We each took a bite from the slice of raspberry cheesecake. Not bad, but my daughter grabbed the raspberry off of the slice to eat it and it was molded!
My sibling loves D&C and frequents the cafe regularly, so I was very surprised. The staff were very friendly and the prices were affordable so I really wanted to love it. We also bought lemon pound cake and a chocolate cream puff. Highly recommend the cream puff!! Hopefully this is just a one-off bad batch of raspberries…

While I generally love your chocolate croissants and other pastries, I have to say this visit today was a disappointment.
The chocolate croissants were huge and only had chocolate on one side.
Perhaps make the croissants smaller so that the chocolate is evenly distributed.
The Kouign-amann was very overcooked and hard – I had to actually heat it up the microwave in order to cut it.
And the eclairs did not have the traditional pastry cream filling but some type of thick whipped cream.
The fruit tart was good, but the soggy leaves were left on the strawberries – that was a surprise.
As I said before – I have enjoyed your pastries before, but these were all a disappointment especially as it was my birthday treat.

We’ve been a number of times and I just realized I hadn’t left a review.

I was turned on to the bakery with a recommendation about their kouign amann. Apparently it’s popular, so you either need to go early or luck out. The cream puffs and cookies are great, but I finally got a kouign amann.

It’s a lovely pastry. The sugar/thin layer of caramel on the top is substantial without being too thick. Just enough to hold and break apart. The laminated dough is nice as well. Not overly buttery, but still light and fluffy.

Dolce and Ciabatta provided the perfect cupcakes to help my daughter and her friends celebrate Taylor Swift’s album release. The team at D&C took my vague request of “orange and green cupcakes” and turned them into a work of art. The process was easy and the cupcakes were as delicious as they were beautiful.

Small interior so don’t expect to eat here, but they had really quick service even when I went on a busy day. The pastries they have are absolutely beautiful. The coffee cake muffin was good, I’d recommend.
Dont get the Nutella creme volcano. It’s just bread with a sweet outer, I had maybe a teaspoon of Nutella on top and that was it…
Employees were so nice and friendly.

I am so thankful my goal wasn’t to try to visit 1000 bakeries because if they were anywhere as good as Dolce & Ciabatta I would probably need to invest in larger looser fitting clothes. The deliciousness that permeated through this shop was heavenly. I walked out with a bag of rolls, three baguette, two mini baguettes, and 6 butter croissants. While in the shop I had their almond croissant and a muffin. Oh my…talk about no will power. I obviously have none when a bakery smells this good!

Sadly, cortados were not on the menu. The friendly woman taking my order didn’t know what one was and there was a line behind me so I ordered a double cappucino with less than normal milk and a lower the temperature of the milk. It sounds was more complicated when I type it. Anyhow, the cappucino was made exactly how I ordered it and I enjoyed sipping on it while I ate the most amazing almond croissant of my entire life.

Major disappointment. The holiday chocolate roll tasted like a supermarket cake, but was much more expensive. We discarded it. The pan au raisin which they call something else and add custard to it wasn’t bad, but custard was 1/8 teaspoon. The seating is awful and so was the atmosphere.

I am not exaggerating when I say that Dolce & Ciabatta is the best bakery in Northern Virginia. If you’re looking for authentic French baguettes, croissants and macarons, this is the place. Looking for a delicious custom birthday cake or even a last minute one – again, this is the place. Fancy pastries and tarts for afternoon tea? You won’t find any prettier or tastier anywhere. Looking for a pumpkin pie or Yule log during the holidays? Order them here! On top of all the usual baked goods and breads they have fabulous sandwiches for breakfast or lunch and excellent coffee. You can order ahead online or by phone too. Parking can be tight especially on weekends and if you wait until the end of the day you can expect the selection to be slim. However, everything is delicious and worth trying so you really can’t go wrong. The staff are all so friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend!

I’m happy to report that my husband who is very critical of key lime pies, really liked theirs. I have brought him many key lime pies and this was the first one that he actually said “this is really good”. That definitely makes me a return customer. Not only that, but the strawberry cream puffy thing, the blueberry muffin & pumpkin pie (wonderfully spiced) also makes me a return customer.

What can I even say to describe some of the best pastries, cakes, breads and sandwiches I’ve ever had in my 56 years of life. This small shop in Leesburg puts out huge quality products. I knew I was in for something special when I pulled up to a full parking lot and a line inside the store at 10am on a Saturday morning. The line moved quick and I was able to pick up a baguette, a breakfast sandwich, a pastry, coffee and the very special pumpkin spice Halloween Cake I had originally come to pick up. I was not disappointed at all either as I wolfed down my breakfast sandwich and drank my coffee immediately in my car. The vibe in the store was exciting, electric and super friendly. The service was fast and friendly which made the whole experience top notch!
