The first dish, a trio combination, was a unique pairing. Each bite delivered a burst of flavor that truly awakened my palate. The second course, corn mousse, was absolutely delightful—creamy and smooth without being heavy, with the sherry vinegar caramel adding the perfect finishing touch. The tuna and tomato salad offered a refreshing cleanse after the mousse, and the generous portion of tuna was truly commendable for a fine dining setting.
Beef tartare seems to be on every menu these days, and this version was decent though not particularly standout. The roasted duck, however, was my favorite dish of the evening, perfectly cooked through without becoming tough, with a delicate savory aroma that paired wonderfully with the pickled vegetables. The accompaniments complemented without overwhelming the duck’s natural flavor.
The 30-month-aged Comté cheese needs no explanation, I finished it in two bites and still wanted more. If you haven’t yet experienced this hidden gem of fine dining, I urge you to visit soon. And as a colada enthusiast, I must say their Banana Colada was also a highlight for me.

C’était magnifique
Great to see that the art of hospitality is well and truly alive and kicking at Les Bistronomes. My partner and I enjoyed a faultless experience of friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and professional service coupled with exceptional cuisine. The chef is a master of his craft with minute attention given to every detail. Beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned food. C’était magnifique, we will be back!

Treated as special guests we felt cared for, with the team taking time to understand our tastes and preferences whilst sharing knowledge about the menu and wine list.
The ambience was lovely and we didn’t realise how busy it was until we got up to leave.
Food was magnificent. I could not fault anything. We had the 4 course option and every component was perfect.
Thank you to the whole team for making our evening so special.
It’s a lovely, quiet space, with lots of nooks for more personal dining, and service is superb.
The menu here is far from the classic French bistro and there were some absolute standouts, in particular the amuse bouche, the La Bourride main and crème brûlée dessert, which was brought to the table and set alight to harden the toffee lid.
There was no problem with catering for celiacs with just about everything on the menu gluten free or able to be adapted. The only slightly bum note was the GF bread which was clearly store bought and tasteless. However the ordinary bread was sensational.
There’s a small but very good selection of French and Canberra region wines by the glass.
A great night out.
Lunch got off to a great start from the very beginning with a warm welcome and within minutes some of the best freshly baked bread I’ve ever had arrived at my table. The Saturday lunch degustation has five courses and at $85 offers incredible value. There is also a wine pairing available for a very reasonable $50 or you can choose your own from an extensive range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks list. I appreciated the extensive non-alcoholic wines selection available.
The food was incredible and beautifully presented, showcasing in season produce. Hard to pick a favourite but if I had to it would be the pork.
Service throughout the lunch was faultless; attentive without being overbearing and elevated without feeling pretentious. Each dish was described in detail to the table (no mean feat when the menu rotates weekly!) and they were actively encouraging diners to use their hands and ask for more complimentary bread.
The atmosphere in the restaurant certainly matched the calibre of the food and service.
Thanks team for a great lunch and I can’t wait to return!
Service was faultless – friendly, informed and discreet. It’s a talented team across the board and we will definitely return.
