Bistro Français is a cute little café tucked inside the Alliance Française on Lodhi Road — a leafy, quiet spot perfect for a relaxed meal after a walk in Lodi Gardens or a visit to the India International Centre nearby.

We ordered the Mushroom and Cheese Crêpe, Chicken Tapenade Marseille, and a chocolate dessert. The chicken was well-grilled and flavorful, while the dessert was rich and indulgent. However, the crêpe, priced at around ₹700, felt underwhelming in taste and definitely on the pricier side.

Service was a real letdown — it took multiple reminders to get our order taken, which dampened the experience a bit. That said, the ambience is lovely, calm, and artistic — true to the French café vibe.

A nice place to sit and unwind, but there’s room for improvement in service and food consistency.

I visited this place today and really liked the atmosphere. It’s calm and cozy to sit outside. I tried the Maggi and coffee, both were good and comforting. The staff was polite and the place feels nice to relax for a while.

A cafe restaurant situated inside a secured building, this French-themed bistro serves up starters, mains, desserts, and drinks. The ginger lemongrass cooler was refreshing and the coffee was decent. The duck confit main which I ordered was an interesting take on the classic dish, with the slow-cooked duck being tender, but the skin was not fried to a crisp, but rather on a soft and moist side. The bed of lentils is a nice side to have the duck with. Setting is casual and clean, good for groups and solo dining alike.

Café Bistro Français is where French culture meets charm! By day, it’s a cozy café, but after 6 pm, it transforms into a delightful French restaurant with a vibe that’s relaxed yet elegant. I savored their tender Duck with mashed potatoes, paired with a rich Chicken liver pate, and washed it down with a refreshing iced tea. It’s not your typical fine-dining experience, but the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. If you love French flavors without the fuss, this spot, run by the folks behind Too Mikkii Tapas, is a must-visit!

Horrible, unauthentic food. Had the French onion soup and duck confit. Not only was the cooking poor, even the ingredients seemed stale

The Bistro Francais is located inside the Alliance Francais at Lodhi Road. I saw a reel about the crepes and decided to head out here to try it. When I asked about the crepes, the staff informed me that they would be available only post 6 because they have a different menu for the day which is like cheaper versions of the expensive stuff that they sell post 6. But after speaking to the staff they told me that they can provide the crepes since the chef was available. Along with the mushroom and cheese crepes I also got the hot chocolate and the ratatouille. The hot chocolate was good. The ratatouille looked nothing like it was supposed since this was the morning menu. But flavourwise it was still okay. The crepes at around 700 bucks is way to expensive and the taste was very average. Overall I was disappointed with my experience.

Mediocre. The confit de canard was nice but everything else was not at all worth the price. The onion soup and salad nicoise dressing were bland and watery, the crumb coating on the cordon bleu was extremely thick and chewy rather than thin and crisp, the crepes had very little filling in them and the creme caramel had the texture and taste of a boiled egg. Will not be returning here.

Cute café tucked away in the leafy by-lanes of Lodi garden and within the confines of Alliance Français, ideal for a light meal and refreshing drink after a walk in the garden. Easily added to my list of frequent jaunts!
