Upon entering, I was met with the most beautiful smile of the hostess. She greeted me and took my additional order. The cook, her dad, came from the back and greeted me as well. I couldn’t wait to get home to try my spoils!
I am hooked! I shall be back to try more of the menu. Let me also add, they had my favorite dessert! BREADPUDDING! It had a twist as it had candied bacon on top. Ive NEVER had it like this and it is goodt! I now have a new place to get my dessert. Yaaaaaaaaas.
We’ve passed this place likely hundreds of times, but never stopped in to dine until recently. And I am so glad we did!
The service was great, but the food was even better. Being first time patrons, the sampler was recommended for us to try. It consisted of pulled pork, smoked sausage, brisket, and the self proclaimed ‘best smoked turkey’ in Columbus. I can neither confirm nor deny that claim, even though it was really good.
My only negatives are not even really negatives, but they were out of ribs, both the beef and pork. That’s really why we decided to visit in the first place, so that was a bummer. Second, after ordering, the food came out very fast, almost too fast because the food wasn’t as hot as it could’ve been, which I feel effected the flavor some. But again, minor issues.
Overall, Legacy Smokehouse is an excellent choice for BBQ. We will definitely be visiting again, and I recommend you give them a try as well.
Brisket (point) was decently tender but a little dry. Great pepper taste but could be seasoned more.
Pork ribs were great, smokey and fall off the bone.
Bonus points for understanding my request for brisket point.
Atmosphere was fantastic, with rooftop patio and outdoor seating in a quaint old building feel.
Recommended.
This is just my preference… but I prefer full service if I spent $35+ on a meal.
A real knife and fork instead of plastic would have been great.
I will return to try my menu items!
Yes, and yes was the beef brisket both exemplary of the 6′ cook time, but it’s TX style seasoning (pepper, kosher salt, garlic powder) true to the taste. The fat portions were superb in texture.
As a comparison, it’s very similar to Smoked On High BBQ and Hank’s BBQ. Hard to say with certainty which had better overall flavor for the beef brisket. Returning next month!
