Savor in the Moment
The Over Easy Restaurant is the kind of breakfast spot that instantly lifts your spirits and sets the tone for a great day. From the moment you step inside, the warm welcome, cheerful atmosphere, and inviting aromas make you feel right at home. It’s a place where comfort, flavor, and friendliness all come together beautifully.

Their breakfast is truly outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and cooked with real care. Whether you’re diving into perfectly fluffy pancakes, savoring a hearty omelet, or enjoying their crisp bacon and golden home fries, every plate feels like a morning treat. You can taste the quality in every bite, and the portions are generous without ever feeling heavy. It’s the kind of breakfast that leaves you satisfied, energized, and smiling.

The service is just as impressive as the food. The Over Easy team is upbeat, attentive, and genuinely friendly, always making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. The whole place has that cozy, local charm that keeps you coming back—where great food and great people create a consistently wonderful experience.

If you’re searching for the perfect breakfast spot, look no further than The Over Easy. It’s delicious, welcoming, and simply a wonderful way to start your day.

In my top favorite for breakfast!!!
The Over Easy Cafe is easily one of my faves for breakfast. The belly buster (pictured) is my go to. They had me at biscuits and gravy . In a world of riaing prices and slacking food they are still the same great prices and food.
Now on to the owners Cathy and Micheal. I have been eating there since my daughter was little and it’s nice to have that friendly smile when you walk in the door. You can see it with so many of the customers when you are there. A real family place.
Something else to note the commitment to the community and service to others. This is a very unique little place full-on love, smiles and good food.

My go-to local neighborhood breakfast/early lunch place. Family owned and operated. Great coffee and baked goods. Love the omelets. Had open faced roast beef sandwich with gravy. Nothing fancy, just great home cooked meals. They close at 2pm during the week. So plan accordingly.

The owner of this place, I’m assuming (an older woman) is the most rude person I’ve come across in a while. The food was just ok, but if you want to sit there and listen to her bark orders and belittle her new staff then this is the place for you! I would never treat my employees this way. I recommend that you do not support this insufferable womans business. I encourage the employees to find a better work environment. For example, 2 customers had just sat down, they were both on the phone and the owner walks up to their table and asks “do you want a drink?, then says I guess not since your both on the phone” and walks away. We get up from our table, meanwhile she has already barked 3 demands at her new employee, and immediately yells “booth 4 needs to be cleaned.” Her lack of tact, obvious micromanagement, and lack of training her staff after hours..shows. The amount an anxiety I had listening to her! The staff tried so hard to make the experience better but I was ready to get out of there.

Today, we decided to go to the Over Easy Cafe for breakfast. The reviews were decent enough to give it a try. As soon as we sat down, the manager barked for someone get their drink order. Now normally I would be super grateful that someone is so focused on making sure their customers were taken care of quickly, but this place lacked customer service. This however was a test to see how fast they can get you in and out the door. We ordered our breakfast and the waitress who was new asked if my order came with a side. The “owner” replied yes. I had the tots. The place began to fill up quickly but honestly I dont know why because it was at this point it took a turn. The waitress we had was going table to table getting orders and drinks and running around. While she was taking an order, the owner barked and said why haven’t you taken that tables drink order, nevermind I’ll do it. Then a customer asked what came with the chicken and waffles. The owners reply was chicken and waffles like the title says. I believe the customer wanted to know if it had sides or eggs with it but no politeness from this owner. Our order was ready and out it came. My side of tots with my meal was 7 tots. It was almost laughable. Our waitress was doing her best but it didnt appear anyone was good enough for the owner or the cook. I watched the cook roll her eyes everytime someone order. If you prefer an environment that destroys their employees and customer then by all means. For us, this will be the last visit and we will be sure to share with the community through other avenues the ridiculousness of this “establishment”.

Should’ve been 5 Stars! Had delicious pecan waffles and bacon. Both were cooked perfectly. Very friendly and good service in clean homey atmosphere. However, I have a huge issue with being charged more money than stated on the menu. When I complained, I was told that it’s on the menu and that they’ve had those menus for a couple years. It says “prices subject to change” on the menu, which I hadn’t noticed. I’m a price conscious person who always takes prices in consideration before I order. What is a person supposed to do? Ask how much every item on the menu costs before ordering? It was only $2 more each, but that’s not the point. We had an otherwise fantastic experience that I feel was ruined. How many customers never complain and just never come back? If you can’t afford to print new menus, then hand write them and print copies for crying out loud! It’s one thing to have outdated prices online, but on the print menu on the table? Unacceptable and ridiculous.

Family owned dinner tucked away in a small strip mall. Well worth checking out. Great biscuits and gravy, fresh made home fries and I was lucky enough to be there after “dad” made smoked bacon. Highly recommend trying it.

Breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Diner with home cooking, nice staff and great prices. Be sure to try the sweet tea. Bacon was crispy, omelette was piping hot. Especially liked the crunch of the grilled biscuit.

I’ve been to a lot of restaurants in Oakland Park. And I know this place has been there for over 30 years. But when you walk into the place it looks like it was built last week..
The windows the seats everything was brand new clean-looking the walls even the mural on the walls looks like it was painted last week.. I always tell everybody about this place now..
