Used to live in the Northgate area between 02/2016 – 02/2018; even back then I didn’t think much of this “restaurant” spot. I just went there for the first time since I left rochmn on 12/24/22… This Market Grille “restaurant” spot seems even more makeshift than it did back then. Back then I referred to it as more of a cafe than a full fledged restaurant. Every Hy-vee store varies as to the amenities… This Barlow location used to have that daycare at the main entrance/exit doorways in that front corner between the 2. i had been to the other 3 locations in rochmn and the only 1 that had a full service restaurant was the newest one on West Circle Dr…. this location doesn’t even have a kitchen or dishwashing area… everything has to be carried in/out of the designated dining area to/from the hot/cold ready department. That just seems unsanitary to me. I had heard this location was to become a Walburgers too which seems like that fell through (not surprised considering how small the space is & how much of a ripoff that chain is in comparison to Hy-vee Market Grilles). There was only 1 employee working with 5 customers inside, 1 of the tv’s watching the Viking game connection constantly going out 1-2 times every 30 seconds that lasted for 1-2 seconds…. just got really annoying.

We got food from the deli. I got Chinese and husband got pizza. All was good. Came to $9. Whatttt …2 people for $9 and it was good. We ate it in the Marketside grill. Food being g served there look great

Used to be good but the experience now is sub-par. Someone in corporate HQ needs to reevaluate the new strategy. For example, you have to get your own silverware but they will bring you your food and beverages. The menu is greatly reduced. Not likely to return again.

Ordered two breakfasts. Potatoes were dry leftovers, eggs were overdone, chicken fried steak was awful. One order was wrong and had to be redone. One order came without the toast that should have come with it. Total charge was $26 without a tip.

Nestled inside the Hy-Vee Market, this very friendly and accomodating grill offers breakfast, lunch and dinner along with a selection of beverages. After a couple of visits, you feel like a regular when they greet you by name. Always a wonderful place for an awesome breakfast!

Came in and ordered a simple two dishes, a hamburger, medium, and fettucene alfredo. After 20 minutes our food came back, the burger was well done and crispy, no pink whatsoever. That’s another thing. I, myself, tried the alfredo, which was extremely thick, heavy, and bland as all hell. There was little to no flavor outside of the half pound of parmesan grated on it, and even then, a very mild flavor. The parsley added brought no freshness or lightness to the dish, as I felt borderline bloated after eating it. The breadstick that came with it was chewy and dense, clearly frozen before reheated. Wouldn’t reccommend for anyone. The second star is only there because of free refills, and even then, cocktails are $7 each on a rather small menu.

Would not recommend the restaurant 3rd time I have been told it’s to busy. Wasn’t that many tables seated. I feel Sophie needs to be trained better it is always her when there is a issue
