The owners were awesome! The entire staff was very talkative and friendly, serving up jokes, sushi, and smiles. Will absolutely be back time and time again!

As an international student at South Dakota State University, I often struggled to find authentic Asian flavors. Fortunately, a friend highly recommended this sushi restaurant, so we decided to visit one weekend. To our delight, the food was not only delicious but also reasonably priced, and the staff were warm and attentive. We particularly loved their fried sushi—a unique and unforgettable flavor I had never experienced before. The entire dining experience was both novel and enjoyable, and I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. I’m sure you’ll love it too!

My son loves this place. Great service. Lots of great options. The place was pretty full for a weekday lunch, so you know its good!

I’ve traveled all over the country and this is my favorite spot. Jojo the owner waited on my table personally and made sure every single item was top notch. And it all was. The soup, salad, rock shrimp, and steak and scallop hibachi was top tier. This may seem like a little hole in the wall restaurant but I can assure you jojo makes up for it with her excellent service and huge heart. She truly wants every guest to fully enjoy their meal. She even flagged me down in the parking lot after I left and offered me one of their signature sodas for next time. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. Just absolutely perfect service on everything.

Casual dining in this lovely little lake town with campgrounds a plenty! Friendly, attentive staff-this little gem is family owned and operated with pride. It’s easy to see how they care about quality and service. I was the beneficiary on this particular night of a lovely sushi roll, a complimentary soup to warm the evening chill after a day in the sun. Since I did not snap a photo in the restaurant I am including one of my nearby camp….

Visiting during the weekday lunch was certainly busy(for good reason). The staff maintained attentiveness and hospitality while the food was fresh and and absolutely fantastic. Going there this afternoon, downtown was rather silent and we were one of only two tables. The food and service were exactly the same, amazing. Too often I’m unimpressed with the service industry of late but Downtown Sushi invigorated my thirst to to enjoy a meal outside of the home. Thank you and we will see you soon.

Owners treat you like family; we love this place. The soups are good. The rolls are delicious. It may well be the best sushi place we’ve been to… definitely the best one in the area!

Read the reviews prior to eating here and they were not wrong! We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was for a small town. I had the Hot Cindy roll and it was one of the spiciest rolls I’ve ever had. Delicious. The hibachi was also on the better side of other hibachis according to my boyfriend. Service was great she gave my bf a can of pop to go without him even asking. Despite being packed at lunchtime food came out relatively fast.

I was waiting here for my food when one of the younger female Asian servers, I’m guessing she has worked here for a long time or is the owners daughter, snapped at one of the older Native or Hispanic gentleman. He has a tattoo on his hand and was wearing sweatpants. He looked unsure of what to do during a busy rush and was following one of the other older gentleman around to see what tables needed to be cleaned when she yelled at him in front of the entire restaurant “what are you doing?!! Why are you just following him around? Go clean your own tables” and gave him a dirty look. I looked around at other customers who were also disturbed by this behavior. It was very sad to watch and I hope in the future, newer, especially older workers, get treated better.
