It’s been a while since I got back this way, but I tell you what, the food is still as good as ever and the servers are just as friendly as ever. Once I knew i was going to Fayetteville, I had to stop back by for the best soul food around that area. I got my chittlins and rice with Mac and cheese and steamed cabbage. My God it is so good. If yall haven’t been to this place and are near it, yall need to check it out. They cook a lot of different soul foods and it all is so good. Thank yall again for treating me to a wonderful belly filling lunch.

We drove by this restaurant about a week ago. We decided to place an order here today for takeout. We decided to order two combination plates; one with stew beef & fried chicken with fried okra and yams. The second plate with Stew beef & fried pork chop with cabbage and fried okra.
The stew beef and rice with gravy is very good. It is seasoned very well and the meat is extremely tender. The fried pork chop is delicious and seasoned well. The fried chicken is good and seasoned well. The rolls that came with the meal are extremely soft. The food here is very good. If, you have an opportunity to come here and try the food, please do so. There is not a place to dine in so, you have to place your order and wait in your car or stand outside while it’s being prepared.
I know that we will be back to try other menu items.

Virgil’s is soul food at its best. The takeaway plates are packed. It was yummy.
IMPORTANT: From one hour to close, they no longer cook food. You’ll have to order from whatever they have left. If you want to ensure that you get the items you want, never order near closing time.

Food was extremely good. Just great southern comfort food. Sweet tea was also great. Highly recommend hush puppies, barbecue, any variation of chicken, coleslaw and yams. Will definitely be back.

I got the ribs, mac and cheese, yams and greens and hushpuppies. Absolutely amazing. The food was great. The reason it’s 4 stars and not 5 is because online it says they open at 1130 on Sundays. Once I got there I was told they opened at 1230. Since I drove quite a bit to get there, I decided to wait, it was worth it though. Also, there is no dine in. You order and pick up at a window and take your food to go. Other than that, it was great! The lemonade was delicious.

Listen to the locals! I loved the food we bought. Smothered chicken, chicken wings, hamburger steak,. Yams and cabbage were great as well. Mac and cheese was the best!!! I also got a meatloaf plate….. I didn’t like that one. The 3 of us tried it and it was very heavenly salted and more of a mush it was falling apart and wet. The mashed potatoes that came with it were also watery and bland. There was about a 30 minute wait but it was worth it. This restaurant is a hour and a half from me. I do a lot of traveling to Fayetteville and I plan on returning and trying more dishes.

Good food, solid serving sizes. The bbq pigs feet was good, as well as the regular bbq. They do not currently offer indoor dining, though there are some covered picnic tables outside. Other reviews mentioning a long wait time aren’t wrong, but the food is good nonetheless

The chicken wings weren’t that good and the hush puppies tasted like they had garlic powder in them . It tastes a lot different from what I remember. The wait time is better after you order.

First I want to say that I travel 2 hours from South Carolina to North Carolina my cousin referred me when I got there we waited 32 minutes for the drive in when I finally got back to the house open up my food and saw that I had a plate size of a child. Even though I must say the food was excellent but I would not return their for the simple fact that they had us wait 32 minutes and I was the 2nd car just to be serviced at the drive-in window which was utterly ridiculous …the SIZE OF THE PLATE WAS EMBARRASSING BECAUSE I BROUGHT TWO MORE PLATES FOR MY FAMILY MEMBERS.
