Such a cute and cozy spot right by Central Park — the vibe is calm & welcoming. The staff made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in.

We stopped with my sister by after a short walk through Central Park, and it was the perfect place to relax and recharge. I had the classic pancakes — fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality.

This is definitely going on my list as a go-to spot for a quick bite and a moment to unwind on my next Central Park visit.
Highly recommend ✨

Shout out to Estevan for being awesome and making our experience so wonderful! I bought two dinner vouchers on Expedia, but did not have high expectations. My teen daughter and I walked in and the place seemed a little shady looking. (We realized later that it was because we came before dinner time, so it was kinda empty. That changed over the hour!) The portions are generous and the food is 10/10. We were stuffed by the end of the meal and still ended up taking “the entire Empire State Building” to go. (Refer to attached photo for a better understanding of the last statement)

After wanting more than just a bagel for breakfast, we decided to stop by Central Park Cafe. The atmosphere was pleasant, and there was plenty of seating available, which made for a comfortable start to our morning.

Unfortunately, the service was slower than expected especially considering it wasn’t busy. It took about five minutes to receive our drinks and another ten minutes before our order was taken. Once our food began arriving, only about 75% of it was brought out in a reasonable timeframe. We ended up waiting an additional ten minutes for the pancakes, which shouldn’t typically be one of the last items served.

When the pancakes finally arrived, they were unfortunately inedible according to the 10 year old who ordered them. The rest of our meals were standard and prepared well.

Overall, our experience was just okay. With a few improvements in customer service and better kitchen coordination, this cafe has the potential to be a great place to dine.

The atmosphere at Central Park Cafe was nice, and the location is very convenient, but the dining experience left a lot to be desired. Our orders weren’t quite right—my steak was cooked well-done instead of medium, and the sides didn’t match what we had asked for. Oddly, dessert came out first, and the tiramisu had no noticeable coffee flavor. My salad which also included the wrong ingredients was also served at the same time as my steak, which felt rushed and disorganized. The food was just okay overall, but the service and execution definitely need improvement.

We were originally headed to Carnegie Diner, but stumbled across Central Park Café and decided to give it a try—definitely the right choice!

The coffee, fresh juice, and food were all on point, with great flavor and presentation. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect stop in the city.

Highly recommend the Italian Eggs Benedict—absolutely delicious and a standout dish.
A hidden gem near Central Park that I’d gladly return to!

I love this place! I work nearby and have had nothing but great food and service. The staff is all very friendly and attentive. I have tried several menu items and my favorite is the chicken shish kebabs! Although the dumpling soup is a close second. I’ve tried all the salads and usually add grilled chicken. Our office has even catered from them and the whole office loved it! They have a special now for a burger, soda and fries for $9.99! I don’t know anywhere in NYC that offers this. (It’s for Online or pick up only). They have outdoor seating and all of the tables are these beautiful custom tables made from trees. It’s super close to Central Park too.

Went here around 9:30 AM on a Sunday and had no wait, which was a nice surprise for NYC. The food was awesome—I had the pulled pork eggs benedict, and it was rich, flavorful, and topped with crispy onions that made it perfect. We also got the pancakes with fresh berries, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle—sweet but so good.

Service was friendly and quick, and the vibe was casual and relaxed. Prices run about $15–$25, which feels fair for the quality and location. Definitely a solid breakfast/brunch spot if you’re near Central Park

Only had dessert here, but the cinnamon bun was really quite good. It was nice and warm and crispy, and had whipped cream atop of it, with fruit scattered about.

They also have outdoor, open-air seating.

We had to send my mom’s pancakes back because they were 15 mins late after the rest of us were served. I also had to send back my omelette dish because there was no ham (which I requested), the peppers weren’t cooked at all and the cheese was plastic kraft squares. This was the worst meal we had in NYC by a long shot. Seems like maybe the cook is frustrated and so purposefully doing a poor job? That was our theory

Awful, in my opinion, do not go!
I saw some of the reviews and said ok let me see for myself. Worse than some of the reviews. I walked in with my daughter and spouse, we had to seat ourselves, the table was dirty so when the waiter came over, we asked him to clean it he said ok. 5 minutes later no menus, no clean table. I wanted to leave especially after my daughter needed to use the bathroom and it was filthy and no soap and something unmentionable in one of the toilets.
Anyway we waited another 10 minutes and no one came over to ask us what we wanted to order, no it was not busy, there were two other table occupied.
We had to get up walk over to the waiter and ask for the table to be cleaned again, and for menus. Got menus and a clean table, great. Well we then had to go tell them we were ready to order. We decided to share a burger and fries and got my daughter the 4 cheese pizza.
Pizza came and it was watery, and soggy. But ok let see maybe it tastes ok. Gave the first slice to my daughter, she took a small piece and spilt it out immediately and said “the pizza is no good” I started laughing because she is only 2.5 years old and said this out loud.
The burger was ok. We got the check right away and told them to throw out the pizza. They did not charge us for the pizza but we could not get out of there fast enough with our daughter still very hungry. Poor kid, our fault. Lesson learned. I will follow my gut and reviews.
Do not go, the food and service is bad!!!
I don’t remember ever having such bad food and service. Maybe once or twice but that was so long ago.
