I had an unforgettable dinner at Atena NYC on November 19, 2025 at 7:00 PM, and it was exceptional from beginning to end. The moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Every team member we interacted with was knowledgeable, attentive, and truly made us feel taken care of.

A very special thank you to the chef, who graciously gave us a tour of the entire restaurant. It was such an unexpected and memorable experience, and it really showed why Atena has earned its 2 stars…the passion, precision, and pride behind every detail are unmistakable.

The food was outstanding, beautifully executed, balanced, and full of flavor. Each dish was thoughtful and refined, with high-quality ingredients showcased in a way that felt both creative and comforting. The pacing of the meal was perfect, and every plate demonstrated the kind of technique and consistency worthy of its accolades.

The wine selection was equally impressive. Our server guided us through pairings that elevated each course without overpowering the dishes. The wine program clearly reflects the same level of care and expertise as the kitchen.

Overall, Atena delivers a truly remarkable dining experience, exceptional hospitality, refined cuisine, thoughtful wine pairings, and a team that genuinely cares. Their 2 stars are well-deserved, and I highly recommend Atena to anyone looking for an elevated and memorable dinner in New York City.

We hosted a work dinner in a private room at Atera and I will say it was the perfect choice! Food was amazing, wine pairing was fab, service was excellent, and the ambience was just right for hosting customers, prospects, and execs. The entrance was interesting and a bit mysterious (slightly dark and narrow halls) but as soon as you get in, you have a private room with 3 dedicated chefs waiting. Every single plate served was lovely and the ambience allowed for great conversations making the evening memorable. Would like to come back with my husband next!

Atera is an extraordinary expression of restraint, intelligence, and craft—one of those rare New York restaurants that understands luxury as something felt rather than announced. It is an experience defined by precision and calm, not spectacle.

The setting is serene and intimate, designed to remove distraction and allow full attention to the food. Service is seamless and deeply professional, anticipating needs without intrusion and guiding the evening with a confident, unhurried rhythm.

The cuisine is meticulous and thoughtful, each course composed with remarkable clarity and purpose. Ingredients are treated with reverence, flavors layered with subtlety rather than excess. Nothing feels performative; everything feels deliberate. One leaves not dazzled in a loud way, but quietly impressed—a far more lasting impression.

Atera is the sort of restaurant one chooses for meaningful evenings and discerning company, where excellence is understood rather than explained. In a city rich with ambition, it stands apart through its discipline and depth.

An exceptional establishment. Five stars, without question.

This is a fantastic restaurant for a private event, the room they have is incredible. The service was fantastic. If I were Michelin I would give this 1.5 stars. It will beat any 1 star restaurant but it was not as memorable or special food wise as other two stars I’ve been to. The meat (beef and duck) and dessert courses were surprisingly disappointing. The restaurant shines in its seafood courses.

For a two Michelin star restaurant, the quality, flavors, presentation of the dishes were on point. The diversity of ingredients and techniques showcase a deep repertoire of the kitchen team and a willingness to iterate on known patterns. However, there was not a highlight of the evening, something that imprints the restaurant in your mind and on the map. The service was attentive, detailed while respectful. The pastries were the highlight of the night, they were attention grabbing while remaining thematic.

No doubt that all culinary connoisseurs must visit this restaurant.
The restaurant offers a perfect set which opens you different combinations of tastes and textures. Every dish is a piece of culinary art: all of them look awesome and opens in your mouth with a pleasure when you eat it. There are serving with white asparagus, black caviar, roe, truffle, foie gras and other specialties which represent high level of the place.
For drinks there are a wine pairing option, wines by glasses and by bottles, teas and beverages.
The counter seating area is very comfortable: you see preparations of every serving, have enough space around you and don’t touch elbows of your neighbors. You can really talk to your partner (if you’re visiting not alone) without being too rude to other visitors of the restaurant.
Staff is very polite and friendly, their attentiveness helps you to fully enjoy your visit.

We were blown away by the intimate setting, superior service and attention to detail at every moment of our dinner. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and curated a wonderful pairing for each dish. The seafood was impeccable and we appreciated the generous servings of caviar. We are adding this to your roster of favorite restaurants and must try dining experiences. We will be recommending this to others in our personal network!

This was both the best travel experience and the best food experience I’ve ever had. 13 courses, 15 bites, every one executed to absolute perfection. I couldn’t pick a favorite dish. They were all to die for. We also got the non alcoholic pairing with the meal and it was so flavorful, not just flavored soda water like most “mocktails”. We were seated in an intimate room with the chefs plating the dishes at a station at the front of the room. It was dinner and a show all in one. The service was also exceptional from start to finish. I did so much research on which chef’s tasting menu to try in NYC, and ultimately picked this one. It was so good that I might not try another one when visiting nyc. I might just come back to this one every time. Those two Michelin stars were deservedly earned.

Tasting menu was $298pp, non alcoholic pairing was $138pp.

I absolutely loved my experience at Atera, from the service of everyone there, servers and chefs alike who all seemed in sync even when patrons were all at different parts of the tasting menu, to the actual mouth journey and experiences provided through the ingredients, the unique flavor combinations and how they were prepared. I would definitely come back to try a different menu. I included some of my favorite dishes, but it’s definitely something to be experienced for yourself!
