My wife is from Tokyo so we are picky about Japanese restaurants. This place was authentic, with attentive service, and an interesting menu. Generous pour of wine. Better than Hana Sushi on Woodward. Kid friendly.

Went for the soft opening. Super cool Izakaya vibe that’s unique to the Detroit Metro area. Skewers were amazing, won’t find chicken heart on a skewer anywhere else. Had the Hotate (scallop) hand roll and it was perfect, didn’t even need soy sauce. Spicy ramen broth was perfect, along with the Katsu Curry. A crazy highlight was the Unagi Don. Incredibly buttery and very different from the torched bbq eel you usually see. Beer is ice cold, sake was great. Definitely the place to go to grab some unique smaller plates and drinks with friends and family in Birmingham, can’t wait to come back.

The skewers – we instantly ordered another round! The ramen is delicate and smooth – not the overly salty broth you experience at other spots. You can tell it’s made in house.

This is going to be a well-loved spot in Birmingham, excited to come back.
