We came here for dinner and did not have to wait for a table which was nice. We ordered the cheese bread appetizer which came out to be 4 tiny pieces of bread that the cheese was partially melted. It was good but the portion came no where the price. We ordered lasagna and chicken picatta. The lasagna was good but the chicken dish lacked flavor. The atmosphere was very neat and impressive. Overall it was a pretty good restaurant.

The food was very good here. The bread and secret oil dip were delicious. Some of our food came out cold. However the service was not very good. Took us awhile to get silverware. Not all of our dishes came out at the same time. Our waiter didn’t know how much the Sunday Bloody Mary and Mimosas were. Please publish drink prices. We loved the atmosphere and decorations. Each room was decorated differently. There was also a good little gift shop. One of the employees walking around eating an apple during our visit.

The service was nice, food was okay and the environment was really cute. I got the fried calamari, fries and a frozen margarita and I’d honestly go back just for the margarita.

Excellent breakfast! Loved the decor! We went in October and they had the restaurant decorated for Halloween! It was great! The food is amazing! We went to Rohoboth Beach and Ocean City not long after and none of the breakfasts compared to Jolly Roger’s! I would highly recommend coming to Jolky Roger’s for breakfast!

Eclectic meandering restaurant with numerous dining rooms and booths many with some privacy making you feel you are the only one there. Rugged wood interior, interesting photos and posters. Bar area with TVs. Separate live music stage (weekends) and dance floor with its own bar. Outdoor smoking area. Gift store at the entrance with Jolly Roger clothing and too many local souvenirs to mention. Staff very friendly and helpful. Theresa was our prompt and attentive server. Awards for 2025 included Best Night Spot, Best Italian Restaurant and Best Breakfast. Very large breakfast menu accompanied by brunch, lunch and dinner menus. Early Bird coupons for breakfast and dinner in OBX magazines. Omelet was filled with crab meat, pancakes and sausage links were excellent. Crab cakes were very good with lump crab. Good prices and ample parking. Long established eatery. Good for the kids with their own menu and many adult beverages. Karaoke popular nightly.

The first thing you notice is the overstimulating decor. But eventually you acclimate to the noise and hustle.

The food was good. Not amazing but like mom used to make. There are plenty of pasta dishes to choose from.

Plenty of parking but this place is also packed most times. There was karaoke going on in the front bar and it was hopping.

Been coming to the Outer Banks for years. We never tried Jolly Rogers. Had breakfast. Ordered over easy eggs. They broke the yokes and cooked them. Ordered pancakes. The middle was raw. Wife order toast. It was thick and stale. Bacon was ok. BTW the music was good. We agreed not coming back.

Came in with my significant other and our Service Dog pup. We called ahead and were greeted immediately as we walked in. They were so nice and engaging. Then we were seated and it got even better. Our server was very nice and kept our cups filled. We ordered a bunch of different things and EVERYTHING was delicious. Started looking around and noticed such cool decor. Everything was decorated for Christmas. Then came the check. SUPER reasonable. As we started to go we had to grab a couple of the shirts on the way out. Engaging, Friendly, and outright just the nicest people. Can’t wait to visit again just to enjoy it all over again.

We were extremely disappointed with our experience at Jolly Roger in Kitty Hawk.

It took 20 minutes just to get our initial drinks. The waitress brought some of them, left the table, and didn’t return with the mixed drinks for another 10 minutes. After taking our order, she brought bread and salads — but no silverware. She proceeded to wait on another table, brought them their check, and they left before she ever came back to us. We had to flag down a different waitress just to get silverware so we could eat our salads.

My husband ordered a second drink, which took another 15 minutes to arrive. When our meals finally came out, the issues continued. The prime rib was brought out without a steak knife. We had to ask three separate times before one was finally brought to the table. My daughter’s loaded baked potato was completely forgotten and didn’t arrive until we were finished eating.

As for the food itself — I ordered the broiled seafood platter. The oysters were so overcooked they were chewy, and everything else on the plate tasted like the flounder. Overall, the meal was underwhelming at best.

Between the slow service, forgotten items, and disappointing food quality, this was not the experience we expected and unfortunately we won’t be returning.
