We had a very nice place, The Bistro, right next to the CoffeeXchange. Local UofA grads running the show here. The place needs a decor update but it’s got something to offer here!

Excellent pasta. Our group of 6 each had a different dish and all were superb. Food would have been 5 stars but the salmon in my sister’s pasta putanesca was overcooked. (That’s a sin!) The house-made hummus and baguette bites we had as appetizers were both excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. BYOB (for now) with no corkage fee. Great local place. We’ll be back.
