⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 stars)
Stopped by the Holbrook Dairy Queen expecting a quick treat and ended up with a frustrating reminder that not all franchises are created equal.
I rolled through the drive-thru to try the Blizzard of the Month, Reese’s Caramel Craze. It’s August, it’s advertised, and I figured it’d be a no-brainer. But apparently, that’s not the case here.
I placed my order and was immediately met with confusion. The staff asked, “So you want a Reese’s Blizzard with caramel added to it?” I clarified, “No, I’d like the new Reese’s Caramel Blizzard, the Blizzard of the Month.” The reply? A rude, “We don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Instead of trying to help or double-checking, they simply insisted they’d add caramel to a Reese’s Blizzard and then told me the total was $12.34 for two small incorrect Blizzards.
If you’re looking for a Dairy Queen that actually acts like a Dairy Queen, save yourself the hassle and skip this one. Either they’re not keeping up with the promotions or they just don’t care. Either way, this location was a major disappointment.
Food was fresh and tasty and not too greasy. Ice cream was smooth and creamy and sweet!!
Extremely clean dining room and bathrooms. Don’t forget to ask about the history.
Thank you DQ staff in Holbrook.
I’ve been in many forms of customer service and many of them were high stress for over 40 years. This was Worst I have ever experienced in my entire life! If you don’t like your job quit. My turtle blizzard does not have caramel in it and wasn’t hardly mixed. I have no doubt, She did that on purpose. The only thing I did was go to the wrong counter to begin with because I wasn’t sure which one. When she pointed me to the other counter, I went without issue. I realized I made a mistake. I didn’t say anything rude to her. I said “hi how are you” and she ignored me. There was nobody else in line. Nobody was waiting for anything. I tried to have a very calm upbeat attitude with her, but she did not want to deal with me. I thanked her when she brought my blizzard to me. She said nothing but scowled at me. Maybe she’s nicer to others. I don’t know but what I do know is I will never come back to this Dairy Queen again and I travel to Phoenix quite often. Just be prepared if you decide to go to this store. Hopefully she was just having a crappy day and it won’t happen again. I hope that was the case. Not that she had a crappy day, but that she’s not always like that cause that would just be miserable. She looked miserable. The scowl on her face looked permanent. I also get the feeling she might be the owner or at the very least the manager. Shocking that somebody can treat people so disrespectful and still hold a customer service position or have a success business. Enter at your own risk.
