We had an amazing experience. Amy is outstanding. She cooks, serves, cleans… everything! And she is so friendly. We came with a large group and she made us feel at home. And the food was SO GOOD. Best food we had while in the Canaan area.

We have stopped in there twice now for breakfast and the food is excellent. I love that it’s a Mom and Pop place and when you go in there are the regulars who just talking and they will say hi when you come in. Everything is homemade. I had the pancakes which you get 2 large ones and bacon and fried potatoes. I had a sweet tea to drink and zucchini bread all for less than $10. Our waitress who has been there for 24 years also does a lot of the baking. She is friendly and you can’t beat her service. If you are coming through Harman I highly recommend you that you stop. Also get the blackberry cobbler.

I’ve only been to Allegheny Restaurant once but there was only one employee, so you might need some patience. She was the waitress, the cook, and the cashier. Tables were served in order and our food was good. I overheard a local saying she runs that place by herself.
This is not an upscale restaurant, you might feel like you’re in your grandma’s house. If you like a good old-fashioned homestyle breakfast and a cup of black coffee, you’ll love this.

Down home small town eatery. Like eating at grandma’s house. Cash only. Pro vax & mask. And signs say as much so take that for what it’s worth. Our food was good. Very reasonably priced. And the service was decent.

Stopped twice in as many days. Lunch was great so we wanted to try breakfast… It was just as good! Very friendly. Prices are very low, so be sure to leave a good tip! Close to many of WV’s most beautiful stops.

Cute little diner, only one person was working and it was fairly quick. Biscuits and gravy were definitely homemade and delicious, pancakes were light and fluffy, omelettes were good. Prices were great, can’t beat them anywhere. Would recommend!

Wonderful. So glad we stopped by. A traditional home away from home eatery (a time capsule of times gone by). Prompt service from Amy, who was a marvel both serving AND cooking! But best of all was our conversation with the owner Shelby. What a lovely person! Her wisdom and humour was much appreciated. So glad we dropped by! We’ll be back!

Great prices, delicious food, and friendly service. I was surprised when my omelet was made with banana peppers in it but I’ll be doing the same at home. It was super yummy!
My bf had pancakes and sausage and said they were both very good.
A friendly local told us some of her stories about growing up in the area.

Went to this place on the way to a caving convention. The food was absolutely delicious. It was so good that we went back a second time. The waitress was one of the hardest working people that I’ve ever seen. The restaurant was spotless as well. I haven’t had eggs that good since my grandmother made them for me when I was a little girl 🙂
