Last minute choice but what a great decision. Had a lovely evening. The food was clever, different, but not contrived and was absolutely delicious. Good value too even with some quite expensive wine. The best restaurant dinner we’ve had in many a year.

We wanted to eat well, without the fuss and snobbery some top restaurants think is appropriate to sample excellent cuisine. We found that in Ombelle. Relaxed, cosy, in a stylish decor close to the seafront. Then came the choice of dishes: not many, which is always a good sign in my book…and all sounded creative, researched and tasty. The chef was also flexible, he concocted a wonderful vegetarian menu for my husband. I had mainly seafood dishes. Everything was freshly prepared, with herbs I’d never tasted, surprising combinations that enhanced ingredients. The wine was equally well chosen, and quite inexpensive by the glass. Altogether a great restaurant which I highly recommend.

Was recommended this place and so thankful I came. Light, fresh and innovative food where every mouthful is just a joy and all beautifully presented. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Atmosphere is relaxed and informal. Ombelle is exactly what a perfect restaurant should be. I can’t wait to return.
