We recently moved to Heflin earlier this year and have been looking for new places to eat near us, last week we stopped in at Sweet Southern Market Restaurant and OH MAN! We fell in love! The food is FANTASTIC it feels like I’m sitting in my Nanny’s kitchen eating food from my childhood! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the service is great!! It’s our new favorite place to take our kids to eat.

Very friendly staff. Waitress was excellent! She changed the movie on the television so our child could watch while eating. We got our food quickly. It seemed faster than you would get at a fast food establishment. She kept our drinks full. My husband said the burger was excellent and the fried okra was delicious. The restrooms were clean as was the restaurant. The only thing I could see that needed improvement was maybe a sign beside the road. We passed it up to begin with, and we ended up pulling into the gas station above it, and had to turn around. I would say if you are traveling definitely give this place a try. I noticed they have a market with candles, honey, and other things. It also looked like they may have events lined up I noticed they had a band listed to play the following weekend.

My friends and I stopped here on the way through town and were so pleasantly surprised. It’s a little hard to find because of some map issues they said they’re trying to fix, but totally worth tracking down! Everyone working was so kind and we were able to get back on the road so quickly after a great meal. Would highly recommend!

I’m an over the road driver and came across this little gem. Awesome service and food, well worth the short little walk from the Loves truck stop. Next time in the area will be back.

Service was excellent! Waitress was very attentive and timely. I recommend the chicken and dressing and the turnip greens. The cornbread muffin was dry and the pinto beans tasted canned. Price was $20 for two meals with water.
