We stopped here on our trip back to Jersey. The place was nice and they have a pretty good breakfast menu with good options. I ordered the raisin pumpernickel sandwich and it was really good and fresh. Service was quick and the food was satisfying. Definitely a good stop for breakfast if you’re in the area.

Went here for breakfast. The staff were so accommodating. The food was amazing. Traditional breakfast with a Latin American flare. Subbed chorizo for sausage and elevated the sandwich so much. Loved it so much went back the next day.

Breakfast was great—loved the omelet with feta and spinach. They have a large selection of breads, perfect for any taste. It’s especially nice early in the morning when it’s quiet. Skipped their famous raisin bread—not my thing.

Sadly, this was my third and final visit. They say third time’s the charm, but unfortunately that was not the case here. This bakery has a long history in Ellenville, known for its delicious goods prepared with care. I’m referring specifically to the baked items made by Heric Helmutt, the baker who has spent many years crafting the wonderful treats that once distinguished this place. The warmth of the former owners made it a pleasure to have worked there years ago, and I was happy to see that they still sell the breads, cookies, danish I always enjoyed.
However, my recent experiences have been disappointing. The elderly lady who works at the counter, as well as the two other employees I have interacted with, did not demonstrate the level of customer service I expected. In my personal experience, their attitude felt unfriendly and lacking in professionalism, and their patience with customers seemed very limited.
It is unfortunate, because the bakery’s products continue to be excellent, but the service has consistently fallen short during my last three visits. I truly hope this improves, as the legacy of this bakery deserves better.
In total, we spent $126 for four people between bakery items and food.

It would’ve been nice if you had let customers know the bakery was remodeling. We showed up and were honestly surprised to see it completely closed with no notice. A quick heads-up on social media or a sign on the door would’ve saved the trip.

4.2 rating.. I go strictly for the pumpernickel with raisins bread. It is fantastic. The rest of their items IMO is decent, but not amazing. You can have a nice breakfast there. Also, the quick made coffee is actually really good.

I am so mad…why? I’ve past this place so many times never giving it a try until this weekend. I stopped in for a breakfast and boy was I amazed… The service is spot on! The food was great and not overpriced. I can’t wait until I go back. The baked goods are the best. Yes, I bought a loaf of their famous bread!
