Beat place in Destin to vet fresh food, authentic ambiance, and charming service. Highly recommend visiting here compared to the majority of restaurants and fast food dominating the area. We come to visit regularly when visiting Destin.
The small and quaint atmosphere gives and home like feeling to enjoy artisanal wine and food. Being an organic restaurant the food is fresh and flavorful. Each item is plentiful portions and reasonable prices, coming out hot! I usually get a platter option of fresh meat, artisan sides and salad. I recommend sitting indoors, the small outdoor seating is close to the traffic outside. Parking is usually plentiful and free. Beer and wine, only for alcohol beverages, I believe. I love the simple and unintiminating presence given here. Easy recommendation for a good experience in this town.

The hummus, Baba ghanouj, and falafel were absolutely fantastic! As was their pot roast and kebabs. I didn’t love their chicken dish, I didn’t feel like the flavor was strong enough. But honestly everything else was amazing, I definitely recommend

Dude! This place had THE BEST Turkish/ Mediterranean food I have ever had (and I’m not saying that lightly)!!!!!! We ordered the tapas platter (choose 4 appetizers for $30) and the beef kabobs plate, so worth it! The fried feta was spectacular. Hummus was on point. The spicy gyro and rice was TO DIE FOR! Their feta on the Greek salad was yummy (tasted like it sat in lemon juice and sumac which was amazing) like literally I wanna kiss the owners. Unfortunately I live out of town but everytime I come to Destin I WILL VISIT RED ONION. Amazing food please don’t change a thing!!!!!!!!

Food was good and came out fast. The entire staff was super friendly and attentive. I just felt like I had too much salad on my plate and would have appreciated a cleaner plate with less and more eye pleasing salad presentation. Falafel was excellent and the shrimp platter was good. Overall a good place for some Mediterranean food.

Tasty Mediterranean restaurant with friendly staff and good number of selections. We are all vegetarian and were rightly guided thru the menu to select correct options.
We wanted to order the food separately, appetizers and then main dishes but we’re told the full ticket needs to be filled at once and they will bring the dishes only after the earlier ones are done. And so we did that only to get all delivered in sequence and cramped up the table. That’s not expected or as told to us. The only lost ⭐ is for this.
The food is excellent and very well made. The place is family friendly and very much welcoming. Enjoyed our lunch with family here.

Food was incredible. So filling, nice big portions, healthy & delicious fresh food is all we could have asked for. Service was great. Darla was a DARLING. We loved chatting with her and her smile lit up the room. We couldn’t have had a better experience here. We can’t wait to come back. Best mediterranean food ✨

What a gem of a restaurant! We felt transported to the Mediterranean. Food is excellent! The feta rolls and the stuffed grape leaves are 10 out of 10! Holly was our waitress and she delivered excellent service with the sweetest smile! The establishment welcomed our dog on the porch with water. We joined the empty plate club because the food here is remarkably good and we ate it all. Thank you Red Onion for providing us a sweet date.

My husband and I have been meaning to try this place for a while and today we finally got to! The portions are huge. It’s pricey but you get what you pay for. The food is delicious and authentic. Again, the portions are huge. They had quite the variety to choose from on the menu. The server was very pleasant. Atmosphere was very clean and tidy. Even the bathroom was clean so we will definitely make a point to be back whenever we travel to Destin.

I honestly can’t say ENOUGH good things about this meal! The place is small and I didn’t love the rustic chairs, but one bite of food made me a believer. The feta sticks were light and delicious. My friend got the lamb chops and I ended up with the gyro platter. We each shared bites with the other and both meals were flawless! These people know how to season food well. Nearly a week later and I’m still dreaming about the food. If I lived closer, this place would get ALL my money.

Tried this place for the first time, and overall, we loved it. Order the baklava, shrimp and meatballs for sure. Keep reading if you want more details.
Opportunities: I think the interior could use a little love, as the decor, and physical menus are a little tired looking. We were excited to see white linens on the table, but we think this is to make cleanup easier, as none of the service aspects matched a white linen service. I think another person on the floor could be helpful, as one person is juggling all of the tables, checkout, and takeout orders. We ordered a bottle of wine, but it came already open which is a red flag for myself. We ordered the hummus, shrimp, meatballs, and chicken tava (which is apparently a 100 year old recipe). The shrimp and meatballs were absolutely amazing. The chicken tava was so dry and disappointing as it literally sucked all of the moisture out of our mouths. Hummus was just okay. We ordered baklava to go and our server gave us extra too. This was to die for. I would order here again and just get that.
