I had high hopes for this place. It’s closed on Mon-Tues, so I eagerly waited until Wed to try it out. The location is right on the beach and it’s a close walk from where I was staying. It took awhile to be seated even though there was a crowd of servers at the front. Once seated, we had a very friendly server who we enjoyed and a great view of the ocean. Unfortunately, that was the highlight as the food was disappointing. I had the ribs and shrimp since the outside of the restaurant boasts “seafood, ribs, oysters”. The ribs were VERY tough, at some points I wasn’t sure if I was chewing the meat or bone. It only came with five shrimp, but the shrimp were good. I got a fancy drink that was average. The manager came by several times, which was a nice touch. I’d go again because of the ambiance and views, but would stick to the seafood. If you want BBQ, there are other options around.

Our server was such a sweet gentleman. The perfect amount of friendliness and attentiveness. I dont remember his name, but he had a long braid, so if you, the manager reads this, please give that man a kudos! He helped make our experience lovely. I had the gumbo and it was delicious. We are visiting, but prior to coming here we had stopped at NOLA, and at the place my mom tried there, the gumbo was not it. She tried this one I ordered from Surf Hut and she ended up ordering a cup herself. The view was beautiful, as we sat at sunset. The vibe was very cozy. Since it is off season, not too crowded. The only reason we waited to be seated was for requesting a table by the window. Which I will add, the only surprising thing was a charge for that and also a credit card use fee on our ticket. Otherwise it was a lovely experience!

Friendly staff and a great beachfront view, but the food didn’t quite match the price. Fried shrimp and crab legs were fine, just not memorable. You’re paying more for the location than the food quality. Good spot if you want the view with dinner.

Literally the best Fish tacos in town. I got them fried. Best crunch and seasoning. Highly recommend the key lime pie and the smoked tuna appetizer. Key lime pie was soft and the whipp was thick. Not too overbearingly sweet. Best part though is the service. Ashley was absolutely incredible. She kept our table alive and she even drew a beautiful picture of our to-go box. Would come back for her and the fish tacos!

Super busy on a Monday evening around 6:30. Got lucky and grabbed two chairs at the bar. Great open air view to the beach with a nice gentle breeze blowing through the dining area. My wife had the fried shrimp with French fries and slaw, nice big shrimp! I had the blackened shrimp tacos, smaller shrimp but real flavorful, it came with white rice dusted with black beans and corn. All the food was tasty. The menu is quite extensive. The You’re My Boy Blue beer was excellent. Bar tender Chris and his sidekick did not stop making drinks the whole time we were there, either for people sitting at the bar or the constant line of people walking up to the bar. They did a great job.

My father, my teenage daughter and I visited the week of Thanksgiving and the place was so cute and inviting. We were seated very fast for dinner at an open window seat right on the beach front. The waitress was so kind and personable and the manager was clearly walking around and on point as well. Our food came out super fast and was delish. We will definitely return next year for our November beach vacay.

Feels like a massive group feed. The food was sub par, most definitely not worth the word of mouth reputation!!!
The food was only “OK”, not great. We will not be eating here again nor do I recommend this place. There are far better places close by.
The shrimp on the on the “Fried Shrimp and Oysters” is a joke. They advertise it as large shrimp. You can see in the photo they are NOT large.
Also for the price you only get 4 pieces of each. And one of the 4 Oysters was in uneatable. Not worth it!
The Caligari is same price and the plate is covered.
The Captains plate is decent, but again the shrimp is small.
The Endless sumer seafood salad has some strange spice in it and made a member of our part sick.

The view was of the beach was beautiful! Our fish tacos were tasty, the flounder special was tasty. The veggies were fresh and our margarita was nice. Amos, our waiter, was friendly, fast and knowledgeable about the menu.

Went to Surf Hut for our first dinner on vacation and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Got seated literally right on the beach which was amazing and I got the taco trio. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. A fish taco, shrimp taco and pulled pork taco. All were delicious. My husband had the fried grouper sandwich and said it was delicious. We also had the crab dip and it was very good. Our waitress was very nice and helpful when it came to the menu and the food came out quick.

We are vacationing in Destin and had dinner here. The kabobs, key lime pie and cocktails were delicious. Lynn was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing. She really made our experience here a 10/10 and we will definitely be back. Beautiful views and great vibes!!! Thank you, Lynn!! If you go, ask for her for your server.
